2011SVT
Have a second set of valve covers I am planning to match to the body color (black). Should I have them painted or powder coated and why? Second question: The covers came with a 'wrinkle' powder coating from Ford. In order to achieve a smooth surface, do I need to have that media blasted off, sanded, dipped/hot tanked and scraped, something else? Thanks! LeonbergerG
Media blast them and have them powder coated. Will be the best thing...
spectragod
Media blasting and powder coating will be your best option. Powder coating will hold up better to the heat under you hood, as well as the potential solvents and other chemicals under the hood.
AJ
Mine are painted. I blasted them then they were body worked and painted. Once the cars name is painted they will be cleared again then wet sanded and buffed. It is my opinion that paint is the better choice. TurboNova
if you are going to take them off often id powder them, they just take wear better so in case you get crazy and scratch the paint you wont have to worry on powder. just my opinion
