nurkvinny Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share Posted July 31, 2012 We have a Koi pond that has been more hassle and upkeep than it is worth. The latest issue is a 4" tear about halfway up the side. It used to have a couple cool water features, lights, waterfalls, tons of fish etc. But, those have slowly broken and died over the years. Any of you contractors or landscaping gurus or pond guys have any words of wisdom on what it would take to get this either back in shape or - more likely - filled in correctly in order to put a patio or the like on top of it? I'd estimate 20' x 10' peanut shaped. A small kiddy pool for all the kids was thrown around, but I figure that would turn into 10x the project it sounds like. I also thought about a bigass sandbox. But, that would just be another maintenance headache that we don't have time for at this point. We also considered a garden, but then there's that upkeep thing again, plus we don't keep up with the garden we already have. I have a company that can bring clean fill for free. I'm more worried about getting it packed/stamped down the right way and whether or not leaving the old liner in place would be a no-no. Skinner Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share Posted July 31, 2012 if you leave the liner in place make sure to cut holes in the bottom of it to let water drain out.
