thorne
I'd wager that much more boost and she will let go 440whp is bad ass.

Got-Boost?
For the manual, top in 6th. 5th is the 1:1 gear. The Auto has 4th as the 1:1 so I think it tops out in 5th and uses 6th for highway cruising. So what is max speed/RPM in 5th and 6th? Draco-REX
So what is max speed/RPM in 5th and 6th? Oh, someone plotted this, let me see if I can find it.. Here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4647&d=1328919472 Looks like the MT runs out of gearing at around 172mph, and the AT will likely creep by it at around 185 in 5th. 6th in the AT looks a bit high to be usable unless there's a LOT of power under the hood. Fubar231
What colors are for which transmission?
Draco-REX
Blue for MT, Red for AT. The AT 4th gear is covered by the MT 5th gear as they are the same ratio (1:1).

Draco-REX
Info comes in small bits here and there. Apparently they're running an 8800rpm redline (up from 7400 stock). Again, on a stock longblock. If this engine doesn't pop soon, Subaru and Toyota have been holding back quite a bit.

Draco-REX
maybe its just a one time dyno queen I want to see this thing make some pulls on the street. It's made multiple runs at the strip on two different days and it's been in some mexican street races too. Also, noted above, there's another car with a similar setup that is Visconti tuned that sees track days; so 20-30 minute sessions. This setup is driven hard. thorne
I hope that subaru considered the aftermarket on the original design .

Mowgli1647545497
Give it a year or two and we'll know the block&head limits. Til then its just too anecdotal. I do like where this is going though.
ImUrOBGYN
I hope that subaru considered the aftermarket on the original design . Toyoda did, so by relation if nothing else, yes. That still doesn't mean much to us without solid numbers and possible parameters from their engineers, however.

Draco-REX
Mains are smaller (diameter) on the newer crank. Any pictures of it bolted into the block. Haven't found any. Problem is, the bottom end of a boxer isn't easy to see. The mains are essentially the case halves themselves. So you just see some cast aluminum bars with the crank peeking between them. Draco-REX
Don broke it! But it wasn't the engine. Shift fork bent. He caught air and didn't lift, was turning 9000rpm when he shifted into 5th. Apparently flat-foot shifting is a no-no.
