Sights are dovetailed, 3-dot sight system features a Novak LoMount Carry rear and standard front sight. It shoots VERY smooth I was dead on from 25 feet and the trigger is excellent. For the money it is the best 1911 out there. Tons of great reviews on them out of the box. The shield shot equally amazing. I had zero issues with recoil or hand comfort. I have been having a lot of problems out of mine FTF I don't know if it was dirty or the mags were loaded wrong( don't know how) Other than that I love my sr1911 you will be very happy for a long time.
