Alex1647545498
I need my chimney looked at. It probably just needs cleaned but maybe more after inspection. I have a wood burning fireplace and the smoke is rolling into the house. I have tried a few things but nothing has helped. I'm looking for either someone on here to service it or recommendations based on personal experience of a place that does a good job and won't try to rip me off. Sam1647545489
How old is the chimney? Have you looked up the flu to make sure nothing is blocking it? Are you sure the damper is open all the way?
Alex1647545498
It's like 30 years old. I know it needs cleaned because it's been years. Everything looks ok and open, smoke does come out the top. It's just not getting that suction effect after its warmed up.

Alex1647545498
Guess I'll be using whempys unless someone on here does that type of work. Thanks for the feedback so far!
Sam1647545489
Do you got a flu cap on top of the flu?
Alex1647545498
Yeah it's a cap with mesh around the sides. It looks clear.
Dharris89
Have you checked the cap? We got a raccoon in and after a fire he died. A week later we could smell him and had to rope his dead stinky ass out. Animals can chew through mesh. Good luck.
Alex1647545498
Jason (wnaplay) is going to help me clean it since he has a ladder tall enough. Looks simple enough on youtube with brush and extensions after we measure the chimney size. Hope I can get it working right. Just got a cord of wood and don't want it to just sit there all season!
