There are several available engineering positions here at the Whirlpool division in Marion. These are direct hire opportunities; no recruiter BS. My motivation? I get a bonus for refferals and a reduced workload. I can take your resume directly to the manager for the following positions but there are a few more manager/tech team leader positions on the Whirlpool website as well. I'm not sure exactly what they are offering pay-wise, but you can expect a minimum of $60k per year + bonus and benefits. Act fast if you are interested and qualified as they have begun doing phone screenings.

 

 

Stamping/Tooling Engineer -

You will provide technical expertise and leadership in developing, facilitating, implementing, and troubleshooting the processes, equipment and tooling required to manufacture steel parts for Marion's dryer products. This position will be responsible for cost, quality and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals in a facility that produces clothes dryers.

 

What You Will Do

Support day to day press and fabrication operations.

Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis.

Implement Process & Tooling projects driven through new product development, product design changes and or process improvements.

Provide engineering knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and safety through the implementation of Lean manufacturing systems and techniques and the use of OPEX tools.

Assist in design reviews of new product implementations and help drive the execution of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly and Mistake Proofing methodologies and techniques.

Assist in New Model Introductions to include engineering builds, preproduction, first part approvals and process development.

Specify, order, and assure proper implementation of new process equipment and tooling.

Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as a technical resource and support to the teams in the department.

Maintain quality standards within the department.

Communicate with work teams, supervisors, and other departments to ensure greatest efficiency.

 

Qualifications

 

What you need to succeed in this position

 

Minimum 5 years stamping and or tool and die experience required

Experience in all areas of metal stamping including progressive, manual, and transfer dies

Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline preferred

Willing to work evening and/or weekend shift hours as required to complete project work or support the operation

Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills

Strong problem solving and stamping die troubleshooting skills are required

AutoCad experience is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret both product and equipment designs and drawings.

Superior communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

Able to work in a team based decision-making environment

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 6 Sigma tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish and improve manufacturing processes is desired.

Understanding of Process Capability ie. CP and CPk.

Ability to assess product development concepts and features and develop manufacturing processes and technologies to manufacture new product innovations.

Ability to facilitate the introduction of new processes, interface with equipment, tooling, and material suppliers as well as provide operations support as needed.

Ability to travel and meet with equipment suppliers and other Whirlpool facilities

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stoop, kneel, squat and stand for long periods of time

Knowledge of industrial systems and equipment

Hands-on approach to problem solving and resolution

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

 

 

Process Engineer -

I will be graduating in spring from OSU engineering I have a lot of expierence in manufacturing I built an assembly line from the ground up to build air ride truck seats for kenworth and peterbuilt. Been there for 2 years but they don't have a permanent position for me when I graduate...
