Mystery Cable- 05 Altima

Hey all,

My g/f just picked up an 05 Altima, fully loaded minus navigation. Where the navigation traditionally go (above the CD player unit) there is a cable coming out with a connector on the end.

Obviously our first thought was auxiliary, but that isn't the case. There isn't even an option on the CD player to switch over to aux mode. There is also an

"on/off" type switch in the same cubby.

Anyone know what the hell this thing goes to? I looked online with no luck.

Thanks,

Brad

Might need to pull the box out/closest removable piece of the dash to see where it goes. Almost looks like a power wire for XM or a GPS after market something. Never seen someone go to the trouble to wire a switch to shut the power off to it though.

All I got....

Definitely not a OEM/factory set-up. Appears to be a auxiliary input by PO.

Try this. Flip that switch to on position, then push the SAT button and see if the display shows something other than "NO SAT", something like "AUX-01". If it does, you now know how to use it as a auxiliary input for iPod/smartphone/MP3.
