Turbotrio
I am not exactly sure why I got another one but I don't have any space for it at home and it can't hang out at the shop any longer. 110k 6-speed AWD Pearl White Mods: 13G Turbos PTE 550cc Injectors FMIC Apexi NEO (Fuel Controller) HKS EVC-S (Boost Controller) Borla Cat-back Walbro 255 pump (Hard-wired) 5Zigen 17x9" FN01RC Wheels on 275/40 Tires New Mitsu Coils New Mitsu T-Case New Brakes The last time we dynoed it the car made 362awhp and 379 ft/lbs. She needs a new engine (Rod knock) and the existing engine is out. Engine did have forged pistons and is the newer 4-bolt with forged crankshaft. Basic rebuild will run ya $1849 + shipping and then putting it back together. Without going crazy with it (Just parting out the mods and new OEM parts) I think there is $3k there pretty easy. I searched and there isn't a single TT Stealth on all of AutoTrader from 1994-1996 since they made so few so not easy to find a great "Done" value. Most VR4's I found of similar year-range / miles go for $8-12k depending on mods/condition. I'll toss it up at $4k for somebody wanting a solid TT / AWD project car. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8376/8543088142_4a21cbc430_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8528/8541988459_26012eb59c_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8243/8541988531_d0afc32443_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8110/8543088192_5e31d10c3b_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8105/8541988599_a4b96240b5_c.jpg
Turbotrio
So about 6k running and driving? Sorry I don't know much about those cars but if so that seems like a pretty good deal Assuming you are doing the work yourself. You will need fluids and headgaskets/bolts and things like that when she all goes back together -- all of which I can help source of course. Turbotrio
Is the front end as clean as the back? Did it have working AC when running? How long has the motor been out? It still has the blue "Protective film" wrapped over the nose from when we pulled the engine out but nothing jumps out. I'll see if I have any more pics when the car was in the shop. To my knowledge everything worked fine at the time the engine was pulled. I have mod-history back to 2010 when we installed the boost / fuel controllers and tuned it (Stock before that). I have all paperwork after that. Pic of the front with the engine starting to come out: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7200/7000822711_cd3c981ce5_c.jpg One more when it was in the shop: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7229/7000824229_89d8f40279_c.jpg
ec_E92
Forwarded to some 3SI buddies that may be interested. One has a 94 Stealth TT with a solid engine and tweaked frame, could be a match made in CR heaven.
Turbs3000
Good question, why isn't this on 3si or 3sgto?
Turbotrio
Good question, why isn't this on 3si or 3sgto? Mainly because local is 10x easier than trying to figure out the logistics of either shipping it somewhere etc etc. I had my mind made up to just part it out but it really is a nice car for someone to put back together and drive. Every time I drive by it I want to keep it but I just have no place to put it and it would never get driven so realistically not an option. ec_E92
Another question, and just being curious... you guys used to specialize in VR4/Stealth TT right, so why not just change out motor and sell legit? Would think it'd be an easy sell for you guys to make a few G's vs. a roller with blown engine?
Turbotrio
Another question, and just being curious... you guys used to specialize in VR4/Stealth TT right, so why not just change out motor and sell legit? Would think it'd be an easy sell for you guys to make a few G's vs. a roller with blown engine? Time. Through no fault of the techs (They are busy and work lots of hours and the last thing they WANT to do is work on cars on the weekends -- assuming they aren't working on the weekend) getting "Personal" stuff done takes forever. I got my 3.4L stroker motor for my 3000GT over 3 years ago and it has never made it out of the crate. I got the ZR1 back in 2011 and it hit the dyno Jan 2013. This car has been at the shop for 8+ months and I had every intention of putting it all back together but I can part the car out in a week and just be done. Before I did that I figured I would toss it out there and see who might be interested. If the car was beat and a disaster I would have just parted it out right when I got it. ihateu3
I would think you could pull the motor and replace it, quicker than parting out, and having then to wait to sell all parts individually. Never changed a motor in a 3000GT, and I am sure its not easy, but I would imagine no more than a days work, and as I look at it, my labor is always free to me! Turbotrio
I have had enough interest in it running that I am sending out the engine to get built and once she returns we will put it all back together here. I will start a new thread (With a new price of course) once she is all done and ready to go. Jeff
