Prodeje79
Does anyone recommend a shop to do a PS3 console repair? It appears to be an issue with the DVD drive, not YLOD. Disk won't pull in or out. I am thinking it just needs the gears reset, but I really don't know. I think he jammed 2 disks in. It is the slim model Cech-3001A . Disks won't pull in, but hear the gears kind of loud. I watched a bunch of youtube videos and read things online, but I don't think I will have the time. I have the T8 security bit and almost have it apart. I leave for NYC tomorrow though.... Before I go to one of these places randomly, thought I would post here. Prefer dublin / lewis center / Worthington area. I know one shop in hilliard is on vacation this week. http://expertps3repairs.com/ http://therepairhaven.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 ($70 flat fee) The haven place didnt answer. expert ps3 did. He said flat 40 and worst case flat 80. He said he can do while I wait, planning on giving that a shot unless someone responds. SinisterSS
I've fixed several of the original fat PS3 models but I've never attempted the slim PS3
ImUrOBGYN
I've fixed several of the original fat PS3 models but I've never attempted the slim PS3 Ditto. Done two fatties, too. Of course, he says his issue is just a stuck disc. Can't imagine that'd be hard to fix. Id take a look but with moving this week and school starting, like OP, my ToDo List is currently off the chart. Prodeje79
let us know how it goes. I have an orginal 60 that im always scared will die. I used: http://expertps3repairs.com/ He fixed it in front of me in like 15 minutes. Basically there is a metal shield of sorts that "protects" the DVD/CD. It had a huge dent. Perhaps my nephew stepped on it, or hit it, or set something heavy on it. Not sure. He installed a spare metal piece and I was good to go...... He did appear to have a faulty surge protector or power issue. He said he needed to replace it. At first I was worried as my PS3 rebooted for no reason while I was there......
