I'm looking at doing an MMR 5.4 short block from what I understand the deck height is taller.. I'm trying to figure out if I can run the Ford racing intake manifold for the 4.6 or if I need to run the 5.4 manifold. twistedfocus1647545489 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Share Posted August 29, 2013 You'll need a 5.4L specific intake manifold for sure, or at least spacers designed to retain the intake from the shorter deck engine. Though the heads may be the same they are positioned further apart because of the taller deck. I think the truck manifold will clear the stock hood (it looks like the height profile is lower than the 4.6 manifold).
