spankis
The 4.8 is a dog compared to the 5.3. It is less powerful but provides no better mileage. Several of our fleet trucks at work were ordered with the 4.8 (2008 models mostly) in an attempt to get better mileage, and they've seen no difference over the 5.3 trucks. In a full size I'd stick with the 5.3 or 6.0 the extra tq really helps those elephants get moving.
