Stampede
This will be my first build, the biggest issue is what brand of barrel to buy? With so many options, I just don't know which one to buy. The other parts will likely come from PSA. Thanks.
stangsn95gt
I say just get an AK, aren't 7.62x39 AR mags a bitch to get to actually run in the gun
Mojoe
I say just get an AK, aren't 7.62x39 AR mags a bitch to get to actually run in the gun Everything I have read, though that is not too much on this, has people saying exactly this. Just get the AK. I'm a huge AR fan because of how long I have worked with that platform. That said, I fucking love my AK. So much fun and it is just alway awesome. And they aren't that pricey. PsychoticGaming
Oddly enough I didn't have feed issues, unfortunately the lugs on your bolt will break off at some point. 7.62x39 in an AR made a bigger hole and at this point was cheaper to shoot but my AR wasn't happy. If you want a larger round run the 300 blackout (which fits in 556/223 mags) otherwise stick to 556/223.

Mark1647545493
I'm surprised no one has mentioned to just get an AK47 yet

Very happy with mine. Only drawback is price of blackout ammo. (Cant beat price and availability of 7.62x39.)
jjjxlr8
... unfortunately the lugs on your bolt will break off at some point. ... The 7.62x39 caliber Daewoo DR300 rifles had the same problem with bolt lug failure. They used the same design as the AR15 for the bolt lugs. stangsn95gt
SIG556xi /thread I think I'd rather have an AR (with a 5.56 and 300blk upper)and AK for prob cheaper than that whole system I like the modularity though

I had hopes for the "superbolt" to be a promising solution but they still end up breaking

Stampede
I already have an SKS, I wanted an AK, but after buying the AR, I don't want anything else. I might look in to the 300 black out. Thanks.
Mojoe
Have you shot an AK? SKS and AK are very different to me.
