Geeesammy
I've recently been throwing around the idea of getting my carry permit, so I've been spitballing ideas of what to get for a carry, I read multiple threads on here as well as other sites and many hours of YouTube videos, I ended up going into Cabelas tonight to just snoop around. Grabbed a number and that was that. I'd been looking at Glocks, I liked the reliability and the requirements that organizations put them up against that they passed, and I'd also been recommended to Walther by a few people. I've shot multiple Glocks, and liked how they felt in my hand, I'm a bigger guy so naturally a larger gun both physically and weight wise felt great to me, where some would hate it. I was pretty much dead set on a Gen 3 G19 in the used market, but Armslist was turning up a bunch of people not very motivated to sell as well as some other sites, and I was tired of the games. At Cabela's I took a good hour looking over their handguns in the caliber I was considering that were in my price range within the brands I had been recommended. Luckily for me they had a Gen 3 G19 in stock, and a Walther PPX M1 9mm as well, I asked to see both and already knew what to expect from the Glock feel wise, but I've only shot one Walther so I had no idea what to expect. Both felt great, but the Glock felt a little heavier on the barrel (I guess the is the right term?) which I never really liked, while the Walther felt amazing. I've got pretty big hands so the funky grip on the Walther works good for me. Anyways, sorry for the long story, here are a few pics. Sorry they are huge. My iPhone likes to take big pictures, but judging by a few other posts the Gun Crew likes big pictures so I'll leave em. http://i.imgur.com/rcVwZzW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/I5oGUXv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/g8DEyVI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/x5TfMKP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1BDidGc.jpg Edited March 5, 2014 by Geeesammy
copperhead
For some reason people still think used handguns are worth MSRP, and until that passes you may as well buy new. It wasn't that long ago that used glocks were selling for maybe half of new out the door prices. Looks like a nice gun you picked up there. Think you could resize the pics though? I saw a lot of Glocks priced near MSRP, which isn't out of my price range, but I didn't want to spend $500 if I could still find a great gun for less than that, that will still do want I need to. Thanks, and will do. Hopefully going to get out to a range within the next two days and pick up some practice rounds from Vance's as Cabela's was out of anything 9mm that wasn't hollow point. 1fast5gp
Nice pickup. Kind of late now, but Ohio valley outdoors had new gen 3 glock 19s for 399 and gen 4 glock 19s for 439 last month.
