wagner
I've been tasked with creating new videos for High Performance Pontiac magazine that will be used on their website. At some point they want me to start doing videos that have interviews in that and so on. Are there any CR people that have played around with audio/video type stuff? I have a rough idea on what is needed but this is a whole new world and I don't want to over buy or under buy on what I need. To start with I'm going to use my Canon 70D to get the video. Any local places to go talk with or purchase gear at? I know I will need a better mic, but outside of that it seems like an endless buffet of stuff that could or could not be used. wagner
I'm looking at the Rode VideoMic Pro as a starting point since the wireless stuff is just batshit crazy expensive...
unfunnyryan
I have a sennheiser MKE400 you're free to borrow and try out. The Rode is probably a bit better out of the box due to a better wind muff, but the sennheiser holds its own.

I'm going to talk with the guys up at Midwest and see what they have to say.
