Bigbird
Oook well the proplem is that when my bike gets fully warmed up it idles at like 5k. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that the idle on the carbs (I'm assuming there are two) need adjusted. I know on my old Camaro this was as simple as turning a screw, but being new to bikes...I honestly don't even know where the carbs are haha. Also I'm not sure if it could potentially be a throttle problem as well? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone in the Polaris area would be willing to come take a look at it this weekend, well I'll buy you a beer or something haha. V4junkie
I don't know anything about the older ceptors, I would recommend www.vfrworld.com for the older bikes. Lots of info on the older models over there. Then again we have a lot of mechanics on here as well.

magley64
every honda i've ever seen has had an idle adjust screw, carbs are on one side of the piston or the other...it should be pretty obvious which screw it is...my XX has a thumbscrew on the left side to adjust idle... EagleCock
There is an idle adjuster knob. Just make sure your bike has warmed up fully before adjustment. It should be around 1400
EagleCock
Edit : RPM should be at 1400 when idling
Bigbird
Idk about the choke, I mean it seems to be working fine. I could be completely wrong though. As far as the idle adjustment screw, I suppose I'll just have to look harder for it. I'll try taking off the fairings. How would I go about cleaning out the carbs. Bigbird
Oook, so I found a bolt/screw that I tried to adjust. At first it appeared as though it was working, as the idle was lowering. Well now I don't have throttle? It simply won't turn. I have no idea what to do now lol. Looking like no riding for me this weekend.
