Turbs3000
I need about 2ft or less welded on a car. The guy in our shop at work said he would be willing to come up and weld it but he only has 220 or large tanks and work won't let the tanks leave the facility. If I could borrow/rent one from someone for the day it would be in the hands of a pro. If someone would be up for this it would be much appreciated and I'm sure we can work out some sort of deal. Thanks, Matt

Turbs3000
Welp, anyone know of anyone that does onsite welding then?
Green Bastard
If you just need a buzz box I can talk to a buddy of mine, he has a couple and he would probably let me borrow one. I have a couple days off next week if that works for you (and if he lets me borrow one).
Turbs3000
A buzz box would be 220v right? That's kinda my issue is I don't have a 220 anywhere near by
Green Bastard
Shit, I forgot all about this lol. A buzz box is a 110v mig welder (at least thats how I refer to them). I will talk to him on Friday, if I remember I will ask him to use it this weekend.

SPL_Josh
A "buzz box" is a what a Lincoln stick welder is commonly called. 220volts and it buzzes because it welds on ac which is inferior to dc.

Green Bastard
You learn something new everyday. I have just always heard the 110v welders refered to as a buzz box. I guess I will refer to them as otherwise from now on. Thanks.
