Limitedslip7
I'm thinking about getting my 2013 Tacoma coated with something petroleum-based. I should have done it last year when it was new, but I'm a hell of a procrastinator. I don't want to have it coated with that waxy stuff; my brother had his new Silverado coated with that and it didn't seem to work very well. I want to use something like Krown, but the nearest applicator is about 2 hours away from me. Anyone have any other recommendations?

Limitedslip7
Ah, I didn't see that thread, thanks!
iwashmycar
Cans? Yes. and 3. Did the trick. I think I got everything well enough and sprayed all I could into the frame. I just had the front up on ramps and covered the floor of the garage in cardboard. Would be substantially easier on a lift.
Mitch
The Andersons carries the amsoil MP HD, I sprayed that on my jeep, we'll see how it does. Just throwing that out there if you want something local and DIY.
iwashmycar
That would probably work well too. Seems a little thinner from the videos out there, but who knows. I also forgot. For the first of the 3 cans I used, I put on one of those cheap plastic spray can handles...made it much easier to spray...I couldnt use it on the other 2 as it was all lubed up once I took it off the first can!.. Wear rubber gloves and clothes you really dont care for lol
Toph6888
I remember undercoating my car with cans, wasn't too much of a hassle except get a shower cap or something along with the clothes, becuase when I was all done I was feeling pretty happy from the fumes and my hair was completely solid. Took an hr in the shower and half a bottle of shampoo to finally get it all free. I did mine last year on a 2000 while it was all apart, went over everything with a wire brush/drill attachements, then primer, black, and then rubber undercoating. Like others said, about 3-4 cans depending on how thorough you want to be. Initial After brushing and primer: Black: And then Rubber: (notice that its kinda more brown, but after a couple of days it went black)
Benner
Heard a lot of really good reviews about Por15. May be worth a shot to look into

Limitedslip7
Did Shannon have his Taco undercoated too? He never mentioned having it done... but knowing him he probably cleaned it thoroughly with a toothbrush, filled every chip with touch up paint, buffed/waxed it, then applied one of those water-repelling nanocoatings. Can't have a dirty undercarriage!
