87GT
Anyone have personal experience owning a CRKT knife? Pros cons? I've never owned one. Woot has one for $20 that is half the weight and a little smaller in length vs my current spyderco. http://sport.woot.com/offers/crkt-m16-frame-lock-tanto-knife-2?ref=cnt_wp_2_12
Rustlestiltskin
Made a thread over a $20 knife. U fckin wut m8? Just buy it and if it's garbage after a week then never buy them again. /thread
Otis Nice
What PP said. That's a chinese steel so take it for what it's worth. The only 2 mass market makers that hold a reputation for using that steel and heat treating it for best use is Kershaw and Benchmade. I carry a Kershaw that uses the same steel and it works fine. It's also a drop point tanto. Not a half serrated though. Serrated on a pocket knife/EDC is :dumb:. But, once again, it's $20. Why not? copperhead
I have one, I think it's the previous model to that one. Screws keep falling out of it. I have two Kershaws that I go between for daily carry, they have been perfect. I'll get links when I'm on my computer instead of tablet but one is the same price and the other is about $40, so still very reasonably priced. 87GT
So what I am hearing is it is junk even at full price of $45. That is not worth a purchase even if it is on sale. Thanks Erik
Otis Nice
Get a nice kershaw man. http://www.kershawknivesdirect.com/ Here's one of my EDC's. MUCH better knife for the money it seems.

Cool thanks. I will look for a lighter one from kershaw. This one does look like it would feel great in your hand.

Radio Flyer1647545514
I bought one on dvor and use it daily.
copperhead
This is the CRKT that I have. I wouldn't recommend it. Kershaw Guy has great deals on Kershaw blems Right now they don't have much in stock. I have a Tanto Blur blem, couldn't find anything wrong with it at all. Terrific value, and its my carry knife when I'm not going to work. The Blur's are spring assist (NOT automatic). Seems like a very high quality blade, especially at blem pricing. My daily carry for work is a Vapor III but it looks like those have been discontinued. Honestly, my suggestion would be if you want a serrated blade buy this blur and if you don't want a serrated blade buy this blur. It's not much more money than that CRKT and a much better knife. copperhead
Kershaw Leek 4 life! I've noticed that Leeks are positively loved by their owners. I've never handled one though. Edit - I'm a sucker for Damascus steel
Stallion Motorsports1647545491
I have had a couple crkt throwaways and never had a problem. I personally have been happy with all of the ones I have owned. On a side note their customer service is great too. I lost a screw for the clip and when I called they just mailed me 3 replacements with the allen key. Zero questions asked. For $20 who cares. Otis Nice
Leek for me, is the perfect size, and speedsafe is fricking awesome. Good suggestion. The Leek is a nice, small, lightweight utility knife. Can use it for a multitude of applications.

JaSSon
I've had I think two CRKT knives that I used for EDC. I've since lost both because the spring clips are cheap and bent and fell out of my pocket. They were merely OK knives, but I much preferred my Spiderco knife. Otis Nice
I did not known the Leek was so universally loved. From what I gather from the knife community, the Leek and Blur are the 2 most common/popular models.

The Leek for sure, I didn't know the Blur was that well liked as well. I love my Blur, will have more in the future.
