Lower control arm Clunked a bit this morning, then broke on the way home from work.

Fender is OK, and I've done the G8 control arms before, but what else could be damaged here?

Steering/suspension wise I'd be checking inner and outer tie rods, strut, and possibly swaybar endlink. Also the other lower ball joint (pretty sure it has the dual setup but can't think of the name of the other arm.

There is a specialy policy on G8's for control arms. just came out a couple weeks ago. But I have to ask, how much noise did it make before the happened?

Special policy?

Not nearly as much noise as I've had in the past (3rd set). Started clunking on the way to work, separated on the way back.

Holy crap, didn't realize control arms were such an issue on the G8s. Do the Camaro and CTSV that use the same platform have the same issue?

is there a permanent fix? or is it more of a replace defective part with more defective part kind of deal?

They supposedly "updated" them a while back, but you know how that goes.

You don't get it hugh, things break but when your car has a known issue and the "update" part destroys itself I would be looking at different cars to purchase as well..

It a $200 part. I'm not going to cry myself to sleep at night worrying about it.
