Hahaha, brings back old memories. I actually started that site with 2 other guys back in the clubgp days. We were selling premade wiring harnesses for swapping the l67 into other gens. I had a 91 GTP with a 2001 GTP drivetrain.

Site used to be called l67swap.com .

Good luck man, I suggest getting a good schematic for each car and start wiring.

Brian Teel? I believe he (along with you/others) ran that site? i was on there all the time looking for information when I did my l67 swap in my Lumina back in the days.

Yep, Brian was the real genius when it came to wiring those swaps. That firewall connection on the OBD1's was a nightmare. I built a few, and put axles together for people. The other guys screen name was lakefx, he built the site.

The good ole days. You had a lumina, do you remember that guy that swapped the z34 before any of us, and got busted online for running from the cops?

Sorry for the thread jack o p, but that thread won't be too bad, you may have to move a few pins on the wiring harness to have all of your accessories.

Ha.. Yep. Animul. He was the one that I first saw back in the day about the 3800 community. What was your nick on CGP/l67swap? Back in the day Milzy and I did a 3800 swap into a 95 Monte carlo. That sucked bad. Just.. bad.

Good times.. sorta. :)

Can you elaborate on the wiring changes? Im using the Impala harness.

The blower makes up for it. :gabe:

I can't help but think this is being over thought.

:lolguy: touche sir. I think I'll stick with the full swap though.

Oh, don't get to worried, these cars being newer (OBD2), you won't have to change much. The ecm will pretty much control the engine independently, and the engine harness will plug right in.

Requirements for custom wiring generally come in on things that must communicate inside the car. Signals to the instrument cluster, alarm/security, etc... Usually not to hard, just comes down to locating the wire/pin on each cars schematic.

This is the area you see a lot of "unfinished" swaps, car runs and drives, but has no speedo, or the tach doesn't work, or the a/c doesn't work. You may have to make custom a/c hoses.

Just a quick update, I finally managed to get some time to work on the car, I've got the old motor out and I'm swapping parts and mounts over to prepare the gtp drivetrain to go in. Here's a few progress pics http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb244/98xploder/20151012_205855_zpsmyo9fsgs.jpg

Im not using any wiring from the gtp though. Ive read I will need to extend the map sensor wiring and add boost bypass wiring to tune the stock ecu, beyond that I'm really not sure what wiring changes I'll need to make.
