99StockGT
Well now that the other two XTs are sold and gone, time to build another one so off to the interwebs! Crawling through our usual searching spots we stumbled upon a high mileage silver 2004 XS like many of the others we have had but this one has 3 pedals! So, from all the pictures seems like it's a decent starting point we process payment load up the truck and trailer and go fetch. Upon face to face inspection, has some baked on stickers that probably have been there the full decade, dings dents and scratches one would expect from 250,000 miles, and a worn out suspension. Nothing that can't be overcome, and even better it runs and drove up onto the trailer! Missing half of its exhaust but hey, we won't be keeping that anyways. Loaded up and back to the shop! Once unloaded and inside out of the Ohio weather that has decided to be winter again, closer inspection begins. Torn front bumper cover. No big deal. Worn/stained interior. Gross, but no big deal. Sloppy shifter linkage and worn suspension. Not a problem, all being replaced. Check engine light. Cat/02 sensor and an emissions code. Again exhaust isn't going to be around long, and the fact that there wasn't a gas cap even on car should explain that code. Wednesday night wrench night arrives and onto the lift it goes. Stock suspension on these things are pretty stout but after this many miles it's seen better days, so off come the stock struts and springs and on go a set of our coilovers. While she's up we swap on our new set of OZ Racing bronze wheels to work on stance/setup and start dialing in the alignment. Not bad for the fact we still have many other worn out parts, but it's a start. Send her off to get tint applied to all the glass surfaces for a bit of an attitude enhancement, then many hours spent heating/scraping/removing stickers and she's coming along. As the interior was absolutely disgusting, instead of cleaning it we just decided to toss it. So, out come the rear bench and front drivers seat. As you can see, this thing had a well used life before coming to us. It has no idea what it's future will hold. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160303_132832_zpsjivqhaib.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160303_132828_zpswnlivtl8.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160303_132814_zpsghtluetq.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160303_132812_zpsdsy967dv.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160303_132823_zpsbmzsgvqv.jpg
99StockGT
Some shots of her as she sits now with the OZ wheels, coil overs, tinting, and some general external detailing done. Obviously pre-headlights being restored. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160227_100905_zpsxgzdxs8r.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160227_100934_zpsxh3fh92p.jpg And a gratuitous group shot that shows the family all together. -Alex-
You seem to know what you're doing with these, but I imagine a 250k mile Forester will be a tough sell, regardless of all the new parts. I'll be watching along though. Lol
Rustlestiltskin
Not a bad way to make a $15 profit on a $5k beater.
99StockGT
Not building this one to sell, bought it right and building it as a shop truck/race car. The body and under carriage is in decent enough shape but yea, regardless of what kinds of new shiny stuff you put on it this thing has still done a quarter of a million miles. Interior was in terrible shape so pulled the seat rails and tossed those. If we WANT to put a full interior back in it, there's a perfectly good interior sitting in our XT part out in the back yard. However, this thing is definitely going back together in a less than stock fashion. Already have some goodies sitting around to put in it, and have more ordered and on the way

Pntbll309
Part the wheels? I need an alignment on my fozz, what do you guys charge?
99StockGT
The wheels I just bought for this thing, so no you can't have 'em! Have a nice set of sticky tires on the way for them, currently sitting on a very worn set of Conti's. I DO have a set of Black and Chrome 18" BBS wheels that I might let go with a brand new set of tires on them... but they won't be cheap On the alignment shoot me a PM on what you are looking to have done and I'll get you a quote worked up. Brakes, new sway bars, mounts, tie rod ends, ball joints, etc etc all on order!
