A friend mentioned he got there at 7amish and it took him an hour just to get parked. During the day if you leave and come back is the wait to get from 40 to the lot bad still? If the weather's good, and turn out will be high, the long waiting begins around 8 ish. I've only had to wait at the road once, and that was on a big turnout day and I got there about 8:30, and I waited about 40 minutes on the road. Generally they will announce if they are opening that gate or not. They really need to every time because the event is so damn busy in April especially.
