o0n8
The same Team Joest that put Audi on the top step of Le Mans 13 times is taking over the Mazda DPi program in IMSA. https://www.racer.com/imsa/item/142404-mazda-team-joest-to-debut-in-2018 https://www.racer.com/imsa/item/142403-chemistry-key-to-new-joest-mazda-partnership Mazda might actually become a contender next year. Smokey
Bummer to see Speedsource get the boot, but exciting to see Mazda get serious about winning.
o0n8
Speedsource's Facebook page disappeared right before the announcement. I do feel bad for them because they have been racing only Mazdas and they didn't get an option to continue in any capacity. Will be interesting to see what they do engine wise. The current 2.0 turbo is over a decade old and pretty much strung completely out. Hopefully something good in that department will happen and trickle down to their road cars because when you think about it, they only have 3 different engines the 2.0, the 2.5 and the 2.5 turbo in the CX-9.
