Everlast Welders?

Anyone have any firsthand experience with these things? I've been trying to read as much as I can about them and I could go either way on them. Internet talk is just that. Some people are raving about them, while others seem ready to exile you if you aren't Team Red or Blue (which, BTW, are 3x the price).

I have no doubt the Red and blue machines are well-built, and probably make great machines for the pros who are using them every single day. But what about a guy like me, who just wants to fuck around in his shop every once in awhile, experiment with TIG, and have the capability to handle any little project that comes across his work bench? Are they at least capable of handling that type of stuff?

I've been eyeballing (and waiting on) the new MTS Lightning 275 ( https://www.everlastgenerators.com/product/mig/power-mts-275-sti-tig-package ) they are about to release with a watercooler setup ( https://www.everlastgenerators.com/product/power-cool-w400-240v ). It's a MIG/AC-DC TIG/Stick/Spool Gun multiprocess machine and, at least on paper, should handle anything I might ever throw at it.

Thots?

If you're looking for just a tig/stick welder for hobbyist use, I cant recommend this enough. I bought one a few years back and its been completely trouble free. https://ahpwelds.com/product/ahp-alphatig-201xd-out-stock-pre-order-now-taking-orders-january-shipment

While I do not have firsthand experience with them, I do recommend them as an alternative to Blue and Red machines. I know personally and know of numerous top-tier welder/fabricators using their machines daily with excellent results on both polarities. I've debated purchasing one of their TIG machines as a back up/secondary unit here.

I say go for it. It's difficult to find a better bang for the buck machine out there.
