Goldie
I need to know what the diameter of the top of the fork cartridge is (It sticks out above the triple), but in mm. I ordered a part today that was 50mm, and I think I needed like a 45 or 47. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guysDrew
jbot
if you have regular calipers in inches, just take the measurement and multiply by 25.
Goldie
if you have regular calipers in inches, just take the measurement and multiply by 25.4I'm confused. Are you talking about the brake calipers? I mean a digital caliper to measure something.
jbot
ya, i was just saying they make caliper with just a dial, you just have to do the conversion (since most sold in the US read in inches). i was thinking you were thinking you needed a digital calipers to do the conversion for you (many have the inches to mm switch readout).just trying to be helpful! i H8 U! Goldie
Ok I'm picking up what you're throwing down. Unfortunately, I don't have a caliper (analog or digital) so I have to beg for help. Thank you though.
gixxie750
it is the exact same as clip ons. Either 50mm or 52 mm.
dmagicglock
it is the exact same as clip ons. Either 50mm or 52 mm.what he said, I have a r6 and its 50 mm on mine. I don't see why you're bike (although diff manufacturer) but same size essentially would be much different. Good luck tho'!
20thGix
if you have a decent measuring tape you eye ball 3mm to check if its 47 or 50mm. 3mm is about an 1/8 inch. 3mm = .1181 1/8 =.125. other than that i check when i get home. Goldie
This is the part that I got http://www.oppracing.com/images/13632-gilles-tooling-variobar-spare-parts-50mm-fork-clamp/?price_flag=cdnand when i put it on the top of the fork tube, there is a gap of several mm. I am confused. My friend (alcohol3232) has the exact same forks, and he has a 50mm clamp, and it works just fine. I'm not sure what the discrepancy would be. 20thGix
My 05 750 has 50mm fork tubes. Is the gap there when the clamp around the tube is tight?
20thGix
After looking at the pic in the link i remeasured my fork tubes. Its 50 thru the top triple tree and 51.5 thru the bottom triple tree. If that helps yo out any more.
