SWing'R
What the heck would cause my web browsers to not be playing any sound?????? Both IE and Firefox, anything with embeded sounds is not working, youtube, hulu, stuff like that.My sounds settings are all on in the volume control interface. If I open a video file locally on the pc it plays the audio, as do local mp3's.WTF?????
SWing'R
Never mind, I fixed it. For some reason my sound device was not selected in my control panel settings. Not sure how it happened, but its working now.
Disclaimer
I have had the same issue... sometimes if something crashes while you're playing flash or whatever, it'll kill the Microsoft Sound Device Service (Start->Run->services.msc), you'll need to restart the service and make sure your soundcard is properly selected in the Audio Devices tab
