Trying to find an alpine slide within a few hours of us. Googled Ohio, but couldn't find anything. I've been to the one in Belfountaine when I was a kid, but I heard that closed years & years ago. Anyone know of one still open?

Also.....Here's some Humpday Humor for my pepes. This has gotta be the funniest "Whose Line is It" that they EVER had.....Richard is HYSTERICAL!!! You know it's a "magic moment" when even the comedians can't keep from doubling over! Make sure you watch Wayne at the very end, as he climbs into his chair, and the guy next to him:fruit: roflmao.gif

jagrWhat's an alpine slide?
Some ski resorts used to have them in the offseason. Kinda like a waterless 1/4 tube slide you ride a plastic sled down. Has a lever between your legs. Push it to drop the wheels....Pull it to slow down. They're a freakin' blast, but I heard they're all gone for liability or lack of business. Duane might know if anyplace around still has one, as he's a snowboard freak IIRC

Found another place for us to go eat too ;) Saw this place on Food Network last night......Tony's I-75, up in Birch Run, MI....Between Flint & Saginaw. They have the biggest BLT, cheese fries, turkey club, etc I've ever seen. Each sandwich has a pound of bacon.....Said they go through 10,000lbs of bacon.....PER WEEK!!!

Maybe hit there for lunch, then come back down via Lake St. Clair/Erie?? Headin' the rest of the way up & around the thumb on 25 looks like it'd be a scenic ride too, + we could work the Zilwaukee Bridge in. Be kinda cool to ride the bikes over that big boy....though I'm not sure we'd be able to see over the walls

Really cool ride would be to head over to Lake Michigan after lunch, & come down the west coast, but I don't think we could squeeze all that into a day

Here's a vid of the BLT I was talkin' about...........

Used to go by Lester's all the time when my brokerage was based in Bryan, and never knew it was used as the opening shot for "Alice".

That 2lb burger in the first vid is gynormous!! Not to mention that 134 pounder!! Denny's has a website to update the world with the most recent victors who've conquered their 2 & 3lb burgers......LOVE IT!!! Remind me not to eat for about 2 days beforehand, should we ever go there :D

You realize we're startin' to sound like a bunch of Gold Wingers.....Plannin' our trips around restaurants we wanna try! roflmao.gif

Was perusing my March Motorcyclist a little more, and just found this in their monthly feature. Not sure if you'll be able to read it or not (too small??), but it says he likes to cruise US 24 from Defiance to Toledo in his off season from racing thumb.gif How COOL would that be if we could get an Indy 500 champ to come out riding with us?!? eusa_dance.gif

Just sent this email out to Sam's manager, I believe ;)

Hi.....I just saw Sam in the March issue of "Motorcyclist" magazine, and thought that was great he enjoys riding & has a bike. I live just south of Toledo, and was excited to see him mention that he sometimes rides US 24 between Napolean & T-town.

I also belong to a web forum called "OhioRiders.net" for motorcycle enthusiasts in & around Ohio. We often get together for charity events, group rides, camaraderie, etc & would love to extend an invitation to Sam to come check us out. There are rides & riders of all different skill levels, with dirt, drag, street, & track all represented.

If you could please pass this info on to Sam, or give us another way to contact him, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time
