RidersDiscount
New from AGV for 2012 is the Grid, now available from Riders Discount. The Grid is the successor to the T-2 in the AGV line-up and borrows some of its predecessors design cues, as well as features from the top of the line GP-Tech. This combination creates a reasonably priced mid-level helmet at a reasonable price. The Grid features a Super Super Light (SSL) fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar composite shell with IVS ventilation channels formed directly into the outer shell for a seamless look and design similar to what you’ll find on the GP-Tech. It also comes with a tear-off ready clear shield, plus a three pack of tear-offs, meaning that it is ready to go right out of the box. The Grid uses the same shield as both the GP-Tech and T-2 helmets, so if you’ve already purchased these popular AGV models you can transfer shields quickly and easily. Speaking of transferring shields, those of you with the current GP-Tech model know how stiff the shield change mechanism is. While the Grid uses a similar tool less shield mechanism as the GP-Tech, it’s a much lighter spring allowing for even easier shield swaps. AGV gave the Grid a newly shaped interior that features 3D padding design for improved comfort and fit. The fully removable liner is made of Dri-Lex and Coolmax - both of which make this helmet skin-friendly and easy to maintain. Every piece of the padding, even the neck roll, is removable and washable. The 3D padding in the neck roll contours to your jaw line creating a virtually seamless seal. This, combined with the large chin curtain greatly reduces wind buffeting. Behind the large chin curtain is the chin vent with an easy and simple up down slider that is large enough for a gloved thumb to control. There are two additional vent controls for the front upper intakes along with two open exhaust vents in the rear and on the side. The AGV Grid is an excellent helmet providing many of the same features and qualities as the GP-Tech but at a very reasonable price. We’ve found that sizing is nearly identical to the GP-Tech and T-2 helmets. These aren't listed on our website yet, so call Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext 809 or shoot us a PM if you are interested. You can also feel free to send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with AGV GRID in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away.Shown here is the Rossi Sun & Moon '96 replica with an optional dark smoke shield
