RideSlow
so I got my bike a week ago, and one thing bothered me, when he mounted the windshield he didn't want to use the fork clamps because they would scratch the down tube. ok no prob.. it looked like this I went online, and found some clamps for a different kind of windshield but looks like it will work and not too priceyhere it is installed.. I think its better. Edited July 31, 2012 by RideSlow fixed photo codes
ReconRat
geez, unless you deburr the hose clamp, it will scratch the chrome/bar sometimeslesson learned the hard waybest to use a cushioned or coated clamp
JStump
Did those hose clamps not scratch it? I would think that would be worse than any clamps that came with the windshield.
RideSlow
they were pretty dull in color, no shine or luster at all, so maybe were sanded prior to install? no scratching of consequence.. I just didn't like the look. I am not sure I like how it is now either, but at least it looks more appropriate. I think I can run the supports up the back of the handlebar for a cleaner look from rider POV. windshield and tires were put on with less than 100 miles after, so no time for real damage to add up. he added them with the intent of riding it more, but life intervened and after putting less than 150 miles on it in the last 6 months, he offered it up to me.
