ReconRat
So around Ohio it was windy yesterday, with a bit of rain. And in the North East a giant snow and wind storm hits.It was the combined merger of two storms.Look how the events in Ohio were connected on this radar map loop.http://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/HRRR/jsloopLocalDiskDateDomain.cgi?dsKeys=hrrr_jet:&runTime=2013020814&plotName=cref_t3sfc&fcstInc=60&numFcsts=16&model=hrrr&ptitle=HRRR%20Model%20Fields%20-%20Experimental&maxFcstLen=15&fcstStrLen=-1&resizePlot=1&domain=t3The weird part, is that burst that shows up centered around Toledo, and suddenly goes all directions South. It's moving really fast. Was this another one of those Derecho type downdraft bursts? Not sure, it might have been just a center of high or low pressure. flounder
No it wasnt one of those derecho events. It just the outer edge of a moving storm. I was actually in Boston yesterday and got one of the last flights out before the airport shutdown.

ohiomike
Yesterday here it was really not too bad. Today, sunny and in the 20's currently, no wind.
