Im a newb no denying that. But I'm really interested in the columbus scene as well as the car scene. I have attended a few events with a buddy that posts here. I drive a 1979 Chevy Nova that has been passed down through my family as a grocery getter for all its life. Then it got into my hands and is infamy of Upper Arlington police and residents. Not admitting illegal activity but I know my car and my own capabilities and i like to have fun. I would like to join the Columbus Racing forum family.

First off..Hello! Little bit about myself. I started street racing in 2002 with a 98 Ponticrap GTP and have owned 16 GPs since. I have over 500 track passes mainly at NRP, and about 10 passes at Crapinal Trails with my SS. I am from Fremont,OH and moved to Cbus about a yr ago. Moved to due work relocation. I am in Inventory control for Whirlpool. Who cares about cars of the past?? right? So here is what I currently have in my line-up: 1997 GTP-going back to stock-FOR SALE 2000 GTP- was going to have a 10sec turbo setup, but sold the setup and went back to GenV S/C with S2 I/C. Needed money what can I say. So now, once its done, I'm shooting for 11.8s or so 2004 GTP- the woman's car...mostly stock, but I want 13s-minor mods waiting to be installed (PLOG,3inch D/P, 3.6 pulley, Tune) 2007 TrailBlazer SS-my daily driver. PB of 13.54@98.5 will run 12s on opening day 2009. Headers, efans, HPT, RPM trans w/3200convertor. Pics??? good luck. after 6yrs I've never been smart enough to upload pics. I am, sad to admit it, older than 95% of the people on this board. That said, here is my opinion, based solely on my experience. As cars go, most of you 16-35 year-olds are totally spoiled. When I was in high school the guys with the “wicked fast” cars might get into the 12’s. That’s if they had a big solid cam, a double pumper, headers and a dual-point distributor…oh and BFG T/A’s out back. Now all you gotta have is a power programmer to plug in and push buttons. We didn’t have shops to build and tune our stuff, if you had a “fast car”, it’s because you built it yourself. And, unlike some here, I did not grow up with the proverbial silver spoon in my mouth, We didn’t own a bench vice, a grinder, or a floor jack and jack stands…I had a bumper jack, a scissor jack, and chunks of railroad ties for blocks. When you have to use a 2x10 and bricks to raise a transmission up into your car you start respecting what you have and you are much less likely to abuse it, or take the chance of something happening to it. When mommy and daddy buy you a car, be it a piece of shit Neon, or a Zo6 Corvette, most kids have little or no respect for it because they did absolutely nothing to earn it. I street raced back in high school, stoplight drags, we never heard of roll racing, no interstates where I lived. Roll racing to me is a joke, no chassis setup to worry about, downshift and stab it I guess. There are tons more cars on the roads these days, a lot more chances for someone to get hurt. If you street race and get caught I believe that you should lose you license for a couple years, and you should be forced to be present when they crush your car. If you hurt someone doing it, you should go to jail after you watch your car get crushed. If you get hurt or die doing it, I think you got what you deserve. That’s just my opinion…I could be wrong.

The motor is a 350 40 over with dart heads. It is not a slow Nova, it will hold its own at the track and on the street.

Yes, that's when the Camaro was stock. And the Cutlass was nowhere close to a race car then. It completely a different car now and will be more of a race car after both of us get done with it this winter.
