  1. Sounds like a good forum for current Columbus automobile related information. My interests include all types of racing - including NASCAR. I have been a spectator at Watkin's Glen for the Formula 1 race, Indy for the 500 and the Brickyard. I have run (HPDE) at Mid-Ohio, Putnam Park, VIR, Watkin's Glen and some others. Drag raced at National Trail, MCIR, KilKare, etc. Some years ago I did some BMX racing too. I am a huge GM fan, but like all types of performance vehicles. Mike

  4. My name is Ryan. I have an 07 Mazdaspeed 3. I am currently planning on doing absolutely nothing to my MS3. But, if were going to, I would get a carbon fiber hood and some vinyl for the sides. Seriously though, joined Columbus Racing to find out more on the local scene. Love to see what people have done to their cars. I don't consider a spoiler and a carbon fiber hood, a serious mod or upgrade. Also, would like to see if there are any other MS3 owners out there. The MS3 sites, out there, are pretty lame…lots of owners bragging and posting pics about the new bike rack for their MS3…great, awesome, sweet. Hoping CR turns out to be productive. I am mostly interested in motorsports…in case you were wondering…no, NASCAR is not racing. Dan Gurney and Jim Hall were geniuses. We need more drivers like Mark Donohue in racing. Grew up admiring Bobby Rahal, Nigel Mansell, Tommy Kendall and "Das Wunderkind" in the early 90's. Currently working on my racing license. I have 1 more course to complete at Skip Barber, in the spring. Would like to find out more on any central Ohio events, as well. http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww174/SoccerHart76/MS3_Rainbow.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww174/SoccerHart76/SK_.jpg

  6. Ahhh, yes the forums reputation proceeds itself I'm the technical sales guy for Wiseco. Do a lot of the designs for custom pistons and shelf stock stuff. Been here 10 years and worked for Shafiroff, Batten, the School of Automotive Machinists, and 4 years in USAF before that. ok, here's my junk. 1994 corvette-gutted, engine tranny out, top cut off and it's being turned into a speedster. Engines in my kitchen being assembled as we speak. 360 cube, cast crank, k1 rods, Wiseco's, AFR eliminator 210's, tunnel ram, 11.5:1, bugcatcher. 66 lincoln, 9", 4.11 gears, 3500 stall, 477ci Lincoln Mel motor.. my portwork, 233@.050 solid lifter. Working on an intake manifold for it. 2001 Cherokee daily 2008 Mazdaspeed3 for the wife. stock so far until my wallet recovers. God, I don't have my cars posted in online anywhere. I consider that about as gay as it gets. If I gotta do it I will...but fuck. If I do, I'll see if Shearer will put them on his site or something. Be plenty happy to email a few to someone that can help me out here.

  8. Trust me I give total props to Senna. Prost get's respect. But, Mansell made an impression on me when he conquered F1 and CART. As for "Das Wunderkind" who can argue with the most F1 titles in history. I always give mad love to Mikey…big Schumacher fan. I still think he had one more in him. Would love to have seen Senna and Schumacher race against each other, but I am sure we all would have. As for the autocross…I may do some once it opens up. Are there any track days coming up around here…Mid-Ohio, Nelson Ledges, etc.?

  9. It's not surprising that the use of embryonic stem cells has proven to be problematic; they are not specialized like adult stem cells, which, by the way, have shown much more promise in a wide variety of treatments. As a result, they can grow into all kinds of things, including tumors, which the adult cells do not, making them far more sexy. Of course, few people even grasp the difference between the two types, since it's all been politicized as "stem cells, which will be a miracle cure that knuckle-dragging Christians don't want you to have because they want to see you DIE DIE DIE".* *=Which is at least partially true in my case. Anyway, back in the world of real science, embryonic stem cells, or "dead baby stem cells" (DBSC) as I'll call them, have done exactly jack squat, so why not inject them into some kid's brain to see if great lulz will occur? There's more evidence that the glaciers will melt tomorrow and cause 100 Katrinas to head straight for NYC than there is to demonstrate that DBSC is going to do a thing to enhance human life. However, we live in the era of hope, change and yes we can, so I applaud the positive thinking in this thread. Recycling dead babies into some kind of fountain of youth is the perfect next stage on our cultural march towards utopiahellunism, and we shouldn't let ancient and outdated ideas like "ethics" or "science" get in our way. Anyone have any good recipes for Soylent Green?
