  1. First, I'll address the Cincinnati thing. I am from Cincinnati, but I went to OSU for my undergrad. I try to get up to CBus as often as possible, usually once every month or two. Recently I've been talking to some other 7 owners in Columbus and hanging out with them. They are on these forums, but I'm not aware what names they use on this forum and I don't want to call them out by RL name. Ideally I'd like to get up to cruise sometime and hang out with some of the CR guys. Unfortunately, Cincinnati doesn't have a very good import scene. Lots of little ricers and stuff like that. A friend of mine suggest CR as a more mature group of enthusiasts. On to the FD. I picked up this FD at the end of April. It is an 1993 FD R1. List of mods is pretty short, mainly a Racing Beat catback exhaust. It is primarily stock, which is what I wanted when getting an FD. I will be having one of your members rebuild the engine and port it in a few months, so the car will be in Columbus soon. I've been into FDs ever since I drove my buddies back in 2003. Anyway, I'm sure you aren't into reading books so here are some of the pics. Looking forward to meet up with some of you guys. Sorry for the small pictures, RX7Club albums have a size cap. Alright...go head...let the Doritos jokes fly lol http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=37739 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=37742 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38650 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38652 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38654 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38655 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38656 http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38657 And finally the twin red heads (mine is on the right): http://www.rx7club.com/picture.php?albumid=4725&pictureid=38663

  7. It's a breather. Had a lot of blow by on my old set up and the stock pcv system sucks on these motors. Hooked up to my catch can. Came with the motor, not like ya see it in the car anyways, must have cut it out so the motor mount could be easier to take off without taking the crank pulley off and the cover...

  8. A slow moving system of high atmospheric pressure has moved into our area. As such air from upper levels of our atmosphere is pulled toward the ground, where it becomes compressed and increases in temperature. Add to that that clouds are kept out of said area--the sunlight is undiluted, heating up the surface even more.

  9. : insert parental rant here : That being said you take the good days with the bad days. Personally as frustrating as it is when my son has a meltdown I know he's still my son, and we have to work a little harder at times but he loves his mother and I, and we will always love him. It leaves a boatload of tension in the house between himself and his siblings at times but we work through it. It's not a reason not to have kids. That is a decision you make early on that you're not the parenting type and you devote your life to other activities.

  10. I want to clarify my "I don’t fault them" comment. I am not referring to the knuckle-head in this video. As I said before, this was handled incorrectly from the start. His comments were not delivered after the heat of battle. This guy is pisses that he got caught with his pants down (tactically) by a person with a gun. If he chooses to vent afterwards, that's on him. However, there is absolutely no justification EVER for a comment like the "execution" comment.

  14. sure it would. macs are not immune from crashing. it would also only have one pedal, and an oil filter would cost $900. plus, it would only run on like 5% of the roads out there.

  15. You are correct, I come across a lot of them, and this is an example of only 6. That being said, the statement was that a "legal" CCW permit holder does not pose a threat to officers. I stand by my statement of bullshit. I'm not looking to start an argument, but I would like to reverse your logic and ask how many officers are there in Ohio compared to asshole interactions you have had with them? There are bad cops! Every department has them, however, there are bad CCW permit holders, motorcycle riders, bank tellers,....etc. My frustration comes in with the generalization of "all cops are bad", which is a frequent theme with Ohio Riders (patrons). Most of the people who have had one of these negative interactions need to keep on mind that, had you been operating your vehicle within the law, you never would have been in the position to have that negative interaction to begin with. (John, that was not necessarily directed toward you, it just fit).

  18. I am a LEO myself and there are definitely horrible officers that give the public a very negative perception of law enforcement. This in turn makes it harder for the other decent officers to accomplish their job. It is definitely unprofessional and inappropriate for the officer to yell at the driver. Once the driver is already handcuffed and is seated in the rear of the patrol car...there is no reason at ALL for him to continue to berate the driver especially when there is a dash cam in the car. On the contrary, the driver is not exactly the brightest crayon in the box. He had many opportunities to tell either officer, "I have a CCW permit and I have a gun on my person". I believe the subtitles lead the viewers to believe that the driver did not have any opportunities. Tactically, both officers are not safe. You detain all persons on scene or exercise some type of physical control before you take your eyes off the driver to search the car. Maybe the audio was not captured, but the second officer should not have been searching the vehicle unless he either had consent from the driver or the driver was already being arrested (then it would be an inventory search of the vehicle prior to it being towed).

  19. It's actually the density and humidity that makes the difference in performance. Dense cold air allows a greater amount of air to charge the cylinder. The humidity is best at 100% for performance, it's oxygen and hydrogen and will be used up. So the worst condition would be hot and dry air. And it can be noticed, but usually I think it's the lower atmospheric pressure at higher altitude effecting carburetors that would be most noticeable. Regardless of what the temperature or humidity might be. The carburetor just won't compensate for conditions like fuel injection will. But ambient temperatures or lack of a cooling wind flow, that raise the heat of combustion inside the combustion chamber too high, will also cause a reduction in performance from poor combustion of the fuel being burned. I've had air cooled engines in the past overheat and literally stop running. Pushing the bike off the road and waiting for it to cool down was very common back then. It's why we all wanted oil coolers, back in the day. I haven't seen that happen on any newer bikes. I have seen a few high compression water cooled bikes get really hot when stuck in traffic. It can get hot enough to puke coolant, and might as well just stop and cool off. Harley riders say that their rear cylinder will switch to firing every other combustion stroke when the engine temps get too high. I haven't looked that up to see if it's something new and/or true. edit: I do hear a difference in exhaust sound in hot weather like this. It basically reminds me not to goose it and raise temps any higher than they already are. From experience with cars, I've always taken it easy on my engines on the hottest and coldest days. That's always when the engine suffers the most, and tries to grenade.

  24. Hi. Names darrel from mtv 20 years olds. I got a 74 vega gt wagon with a 327 sbc backed with a 5 speed and a 10 bolt posi. Car is mint. Just need repainted. Rust free from cali just has paint faded. Very hard to find one of these rust free. Something different to drive and I think it would be funny to watch a honda or mustang get wax by this thing. Had a boosted integra putting down 300 whp it was fun and everything but to many tools around town have hondas so I wanted something different. Will post pics once I get it back from the shop. Having some 4 link work done to it now.
