  1. Hi CR Gang. I am the editor of the BPG Build Sheet, and also sit on the Board of Directors. I am so looking forward to meeting you this August and doing some racing! I have a '69 Riviera that ran 12.87 last September at Cecil County, MD. I am consistently .5 seconds slower out there in Ohio with the elevation and humidity, but I still run it as much as I can. For the next issue of The Build Sheet, which is the only one that will go out before the Nationals, I'd like to include some information and a couple of pics about ColumbusRacing.com. Can somebody give me some background and some other pertinent info about your club? You will find that the BPG is an "open arms" club. While we are a Buick club, many members own other marques as well and we actively help each other in the pits then line up against each other for the money. We've done engine swaps in the pits to two street cars that were unlucky enough to blow up on the way to Columbus on separate occasions. We pull together and party hard and play hard, Hope to see many of you at NTR in August! Yardley Check out my ride: http://www.1badriv.com

  2. Hey CR, My name is Anthony. I'm car/bike nut and love learning new info about both. My automotive addiction has lead me to several cars (audi 90, GLi, G35, Grand Cherokee, G35, S2000 w/ OEM hardtop & CR wheels) and I now drive a 2008 Infiniti G37s Coupe. I've been in the SCCA scene for awhile, and try to make all the events. I also have a 2006 Suzuki GSXR-600. Haven't been able to make a track day yet, but I have taken it up to IFO and ran the strip several times, but not expecting a win lol (GSXR600 < Busa). I look forward to getting to know more of the members on here. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a546/Anthony_Cacioppo/photo2_zps166e3d21.jpg

  3. Thank you. As soon as I am allowed to peruse your site I will talk with Anthony. Cecil is dead flat, but it is actually BELOW sea level, and in the autumn air we can get mine shaft conditions. Sometimes cold and dry air with a tail wind. Everyone will always run their best times there. You should come out in September when we do the track rental there. It is an open day but the Buicks have their own race side-program and car show. I run consistent 12.90's at Atco, but again, we are spoiled with tracks 100 to 200 feet above seal level. Not sure if you all know it or not, but the BPG is having a car show/BBQ/Band jam on the Friday before the Nationals at our host hotel, the Metropolitan in downtown Newark. The hotel does the BBQ - great food and the prices are OK. We have plenty of cars in the lot with the hoods up, endless beer and slushies and a local Cincy band called Northside Garage. The bass player is a club member. It is a real riot of a night and the shenanigans go til the wee hours. Come on out to the hotel and have fun on Friday August 1st! Bring all your friends, then bring them all to the track on Saturday!

  5. I'm never up early enough for breakfast. We should do bacon and eggs on the fire at least one morning though.

  7. Another parallel twin fan here, did my last 180k miles on a 97 and then a 02 GS500. My first bike 30 years ago was a new CB400 twin that I traded in on a new CB750K 6 mo and 6k miles later like most newbies do. lol But that new Honda above is hideous to say the least, give me a good old standard looking naked bike anytime. ^5

  10. This just builds on my love/hate relationship with Honda. Who's was the focus group during the design phase of this thing? Fifth graders? I will say, though that Honda is at least trying to do something. You could criticize them for bringing out a parts bin special, but the truth is they have so many good parts in that bin to work with. Even so, they've really put out some bombs. As for the engine, I've never ridden a bike with that parallel twin. It seems okay in concept. Good low end torque and efficient. Probably easy for Honda to build since it's basically a sawed off Fit engine. Just not a lot of "soul." I have wished for a long time that H would put a V4 in a standard bike. Think FZ1 with a V4.

  12. I would ride the fuck out of this thing if it had ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE 750CC PARALLEL TWIN that they're putting in every goddamn bike nowadays. But, wouldn't you know it, they put the fucking PARALLEL TWIN in it, so now no one anywhere will ever buy one. Honda is so fucking retarded. Why not drop the VFR1200 powertrain in and try to take on the muscle cruiser crowd?

  15. Hahahahaha, let me help you out a bit here. The phrase "LBTSGLWS" is the OR way of wishing you genuine good luck on the sale. This goes back to a FS thread that predates your existence on OR. Our friend Butters here was simply indoctrinating you to our forum, FS style. It's (probably) all in jest. SO grin, bear it, and roll with the punches. Or use Cycle Trader. Your choice. All that said, those are fun, comfy bikes to ride. Been on a couple, and they are solid. LBTS GLWS
