  1. So it seems most people post up a planned ride/route on a specified date and it occurred to me that maybe creating a thread to help organize some spur of the moment rides may be helpful if people want to post up saying they are looking for a group to ride with but don't have any specific plans or any real time set yet. If this thread catches on, great. If it doesn't, feel free to mock me and all that I stand for, though I assume this will happen irrespective of the thread's outcome. I'll start: I'd like to get something together on the next nice weekend day and probably head either up towards Coshocton or down towards Hocking Hills / Wayne National Forest. Any takers? I don't mind planning the route if so. Pace will depend on the group.

  2. Some guy didn't yield at a yield sign and sideswiped my wife: http://i.imgur.com/f07a62uh.jpg He started yelling at my wife, saying it was her fault (it clearly was not). Because of that, we waited for the cops to show up; I figured if there was a police report there'd be less of a chance that his insurance company would come after us. The guy left shortly after I said that after giving us all his info. When the cop showed up she said that if she filed a police report he'd have to get a citation, and so I wasn't going to bother because I figured his day was bad enough. But then she ran his plates and wrote one up anyway because he was driving on a suspended license. The damage is only cosmetic, it will mostly buff out but there's some big shallow dents as well. The van is a 2006 with 130k miles. I'm on the fence about filing an insurance claim to have it fixed; on the one hand, I don't really care that much, and it's one more thing to pile on a guy who's having a bad day. On the other hand, it's not my fault dude can't drive worth a shit. WWCRD?

  3. Sam, I'm not in your vicinity, but my bud is a cop there in Ada. He is an avid rider and is sponsored by SportBikeTrackGear (sportbiketrackgear.com). He can help you with the new helmet, for sure.

  4. Some people will only learn the hard way. I quote Brian because you being the nice guy will make you a victim every time. Doing shit wrong is expensive, maybe he will learn that and you're here to help. We have a system, people don't have to like it, but you losing money and time for someone else is unacceptable. You comply with the system, laws, and rules, why are you letting him not do it?

  5. Welcome. I'm an hour south of you. Not a lot of members hailing from the NW Ohio area, so apparently the riding sucks up there? My wife and I try to host a meet and greet in Dayton every year, but that's probably a good 2 hr hike for you. If I could plot a decent ride route to Lima, I'd like to try Beer Barrel Pizza - heard good things about it

  6. Might try Polaris tonite just to say I did it once this year. I've been there before, so the pirates and squids aren't much of a draw, but some of the bikes are cool. Eh, something to do on a nice nite after work...

  7. that's cool, but it should be totally unnecessary... if people would obey the marked passing lines and leave a gap behind the truck so they can accelerate before moving into the opposing lane, lane changes would be totally safe.
