    Or if you <have> to be on the highway, wear full gear, ride with the traffic flow (or at the speed limit), use your signals, and try not to stand out.

    by virtue of following those rule she would stand out. :D

  2. here are the instructions i was told

    Locate the DOT numbers on the sidewall of the tire. These numbers always start with the letters DOT, which stand for Department of Transportation.

    Check both sides of the tire. You will notice that one number has four extra digits to it on the end.

    Determine which side of the tire has the longer DOT number and read the last four digits of that number. That is the tire stamp date.

    Decipher the tire stamp date using this easy formula: 0108 would indicate that the tire was manufactured in the first week of the year 2008; 1208 would indicate the tire was manufactured in the 12th week of the year 2008. This formula applies in a two-digit format to start the number of the week it was made, starting with 01 and ending with 52. The last two digits of the number indicate in which year the tire was manufactured, starting with 00 for the year 2000. There's a slightly different format for tires manufactured prior to the year 2000, but since those would be over nine years old, it's a pretty safe bet to assume they're beyond their expiration date. It might not hurt to find out if the tire you're looking at has a manufacturer's expiration date, if applicable, and determine whether that would expire before the tread wear of the tire being used on your vehicle would.

  3. yep they look good mine were a year older, but i will say if those are the stock ones getting an upgrade will make a world of difference. also are there any little cracks in the rain groves if so that is dry rot and something to keep a close eye on.

    also check the date stamp on the side of the tire it will be a 4 digit number the first two are the week of the year and the second is the year if it is 3 or more time to start looking.

    having said that you should create a thread about what tire to buy :)

  4. Got th bt021 and swear thE bike is coMpletly different it breaks better it grip better

    I mean this is the first time that I have trusted the bike in a turn before it was like ok to much lean and this going to end bad but with these tire it is a different bike

    It is like the love is back the bike wants ridden and the tire want to grip.

    I can say that in my Limited 5 years riding this is the first time I have felt like this is right

  5. You're problem is def. the age of the tires. Dry rot is obviously setting in and that means the tires have started losing their flexibility and softness. Under harder use those cracks will worsen and possibly cause the tire to fail. It's not really bad right now but those need to go soon.

  6. It looks like you have another 10,000 miles on the center, and another 25,000 on the edges...

    see now i would have said 10,000 on the center and infinite on the sides since they don't see the pavement but once in a blue moon, but i get your point

  7. yep so i found some more cracks from dry rot that really bothered me and got some new bt021's

    it was the best decision i made

    it is like a new bike.

    i went to iron pony and had it done by one of the new guys there.

    it was easy fast and simple.

    so unlike last year when i went to the twisty bits down south where i felt like the bike was fighting me i feel like these are up to the job
