  1. I just spend over $500 in parts and machining on a high performance engine build, full wiseco 440kit 11:1 compression ratio wiseco piston, new wiseco cylinder sleeve, new wiseco rings, new valve guide seals, wiseco metal headgasket, stage2 hotcam, stainless steel high performance valves, freshly machined valve seats, freshly machined mating surfaces, ect. Full FMF racing Exhaust system, brand new Pro-taper bars, brand new pro-taper grips, MSR Pro Raptor EZ Pull Clutch, K&N Air Filter, Large Holeshot Tires, Handbrake setup (extra rear brake lever under right front brake), Has been properly jetted for the current setup. New carrier bearings last year. New oil tank last year. New rear brakes last year. New rear rotor last year. New Motion Pro Clutch Cable. Comes with the Yellow Helmet in the Pic, size large. I just finished the rebuild and did the valve adjustment. . . Zero hours on this engine build! was asking $3000, will take $2700 for ohio riders. located in Troy, OH. Im only selling it so I can get the new fuel injected suzuki Z400. I guarantee you will not find a fresher engine than this unless you buy a new one. Engine was never blown up, (it was winter time and I was bored, figured good time for rebuild). This quad is in Excellent condition, and has a clear title, and is ready to ride, comes with helmet!
  2. honda did a KILLER job on the 600's! of course the 1000's looked like I just punched them in the f'king face, cause the nose is all smashed in and looks like crap, and the side exhaust looks stupid I think.
  3. Honda sells an optional Fan kit for the Radiator, I got the fan kit for a bit over $200, kinda high priced, but cheaper than a new engine since I'll be in the parking lot most of the time anyway, here's some pics of the fan install, if you've ever notice the extra tabs on an 'X' model's radiator, this is what there for, if you have an R model, you can probably get a radiator right side from and X model, but you'll have to run you own power lines, only the X model has the extra connector just sitting there waiting to be connected to the fan, the temp sensor mounts in the bottom of the radiator. I had to cut my connection works radiator brace to install the fan, but it was worth it.
  4. cool thanks guys, since the intake is in spec, I'll probably just check it again this summer after a few rides, It's not like I race the bike or anything, I barely rev it, its all slow parking lot stunts, I put a cooling fan on the radiator (honda had an optional fan kit for the x models I ordered) we'll see how much it changes next check I guess.
  5. so should I leave everything alone, and just check again later?, since the intake is technically in spec (only 1 thousands too tight), the exhaust being too loose is not going to hold my valves open, but maybe more wear on the valve train? I never rev this bike up anyway, it's eithor in a parking lot doing slow stuff, or commuting to the parking lot.
  6. I'm doing the valve adjustment on my CRF250X, specs call for intake: .005in +/- .001in exhaust: .011 +/- .001in My intake measures .004in, but my exhaust measures .014in on the right side, and .0135 on the left side. My question is, how did the exhaust valves get looser?? I seen valves get tighter as they seat, (like the intake did) but my exhaust valves going .003in looser? do people shim these things looser on purpose sometimes to lower the maintenance schedule during non competition use? or is something else going on maybe?
  7. I want the new fuel injected Suzuki 09 Z400 quad!! fuel injection! lolI wasn't expecting to spend $500 on the rebuild, my first intentions was to only replace the gaskets and rings, since the gasket on their was not the high compression one, and was seeping a bit, but once I got in there, I just did everything that needed done. resleeving the cylinder is what screwed me, there was a hairline crack starting at the bottom of the sleeve, you couldn't even see it, but the guy at the machine shop caught it, called me up, and I checked it out, and sure enough, the sleeve needed replaced. I figured since the valves were coming out for new valve guide seals, might as well re do the valve seats too. Yeah it cost me about 500 with the machining, thats recutting the valve seats, resleeving the cylinder, new wiseco 440 sleeve, new wiseco 440 piston (11:1 compression ratio) new rings, new wiseco gaskets (the metal highcompression ones), and the bolts and other little things.
  8. I can take a pic of mine, it's kinda similar to that, except shaped a bit differently, how much would something like that cost to make?
  9. well when Im fighting sometimes I'll say stuff like "I hate you" and "you f'king bitch", but she says that stuff too, so thats about as bad as it gets I guess. No one wins, I just feel better getting the anger out, lol.
  10. is your friend a chick? nice powder coating job
  11. cool, they got some money, I got a box full of new glasses from the inlaws. and a coffee maker. and I dont drink coffee.

    Ice sucks.

you are such a nice person! most people would probably have pushed her in the street this time of year. someone ran over my shopping cart with presents in it a few days before christmas last year, and tried to keep driving, I just about ripped his ass out of the suv he was driving. I made him inspect everything with me, and put stuff back in the cart, while telling him he was going to f'king pay for anything that was damaged. and also saying what the f'king hell is wrong with you the whole time. I wanted to punch him in the face so bad.
  13. Thanks, it's all done, I finished it up yesterday, and did the valve adjustment. Sounds like a new engine again!
  14. I have a full FMF aftermarket exhaust on my 400EX, problem is it has NO heat shield, and it has melted a few pairs of pants. Does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket heat shield for a good price?
  15. You dont need to tell her how much you make, your doing the right thing by not wanting to "live above your means", women like to spend ever cent they encounter.
  16. I saw a guy on a Harley out yesterday riding when it was 20 degrees outside, with snow and ice on the roads.
  17. the solution to your problem is a 4 wheeler. you can ride them year round. I was doing circles in the snowy wet grass on the XR80 last weekend.
  18. Progress pics.... top end rebuild with wiseco 440 bigbore kit, freshly cut valve seats, new valve guide seals, new cylinder sleeve, piston, rings, etc, etc...
  19. the device is probably a simple inductor which cost about $0.25 to make. I smooth out sine waves like that with inductors and capacitors all day long. I seriously doubt all the claims they make, not only that, different size coil packs are going to product a different waveforms, for them to say this devices smooths them all the same no matter what bike or engine you use it on is not true.
  20. yeah your right, it would end up being a really long duration project probably. I think the ninja would actually be harder, cause you got 2 cylinders to deal with instead of one, so you would have 2 injectors to deal with, and I cant think of any injector that was designed for a cylinder that small. Originally I was thinking of using a 929rr injector for the 400ex, because a single 929rr cylinder is close to the same displacement and size as the 400EX cylinder with the 440 kit on it.
  21. ok, so what are these honda bolts made out of then? it does not feel like aluminum to me
  22. does this mean Honda's R&D is going to go down hill on the new bikes because they got no experts racing for them directly anymore?
