thanks for the update, I was so on the edge of my seat that I literally knocked over the chair in anticipation
  2. Sounds like the Olympic edition. That's probably the right price for that

my block has power, the rest of the town is out. A couple blocks from my house the street was blocked off because it was being occupied by someone's roof
  5. falling price of gas lags behind price of oil demand is way down thanks to Europe falling apart, our unemployment ticking back up a bit, slowdown in demand from the developing world (China, India), and Saudi Arabia raising production higher than OPEC wants them to. So that's why gas is dropping. Although friday oil rebounded pretty hard so gas prices will probably be back up a bit this week.

I woke up, heard some thunder and shit, and yelled at the dogs to shut the hell up when I got up I had to go find my garbage bin that ran away, then laugh when I realized my shitty fence that always falls down actually stood for once, and all the fallen trees landed on my neighbor's yards, not mine. Then came inside, wanted to gloat on CR but my cable was down. But its back up now. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/image.php?u=5053&dateline=1301084398 Then I scooped up Tinman and we drove around looking for food but the only place in town open was the awesome pizza shop but the line was out the door and I had to get ready for work. Fail.
  7. So you believe in guilty until proven innocent? I could have a kilo of coke in my fenderwell, does that mean every car driving down the highway during rush hour should be searched by a drug dog?
  8. More or less the point of this is to force people that have enough money to pay for health care out of pocket and the people that are healthy enough to not need health care to still pay for it or else pay a fine (now tax). This is pay off the insurance companies so that they can provide coverage for those that can't pay for it themselves and to cover the new requirements like preexisting conditions. Palms have to be greased, after all.

  10. I'm going to nominate Justice Roberts for the Troll of the Year Award. He managed to get a very large segment of the country worked up into a frenzy. This will show brightly come time to vote. He named this a tax, in a time when the president made a promise that there would be no new taxes for the middle class. This turns the president into a liar, as the ACA is now one of the largest tax increases in history. Roberts knows that by terming it as such, either the Democrats will lose handily in November and the ACA will be repealed by the GOP, or the public will reelect those that pushed this through, in which case he is still on the winning side. No matter what, he wins. Now my question is, is this judicial activism or the opposite?
  11. The way to fix the college problem is for everyone to boycott the colleges for a while. We currently have TOO MANY college students, which is why prices are out of control. Its simple economics. Right now we have a shortage of truck drivers and we have a surplus of college grads, guess what, a handful of those college grads that now don't have jobs should have skipped college, gotten jobs as truck drivers or something similar that's in demand, and would be better off today.
  12. unfortunate but true which leads to the question of how do you educate the police without putting yourself in harms way? I believe I've read that Buckeye Firearms has pushed for department heads to instruct their officers to not confront open carriers simply for carrying. Of course, the cars in that video were labelled Portland so I'm guessing that didn't occur in Ohio. I'm also reasonably sure that part of the CCW legislation here includes language stating that officers can get in trouble for citing someone with inciting panic for carrying, but I'd have to dig into that to be sure.
  13. Rights that aren't exercised are rights lost. Now more than ever we need to be exercising ALL of our rights. Police are nothing more than customer service reps. The customers they are serving are the people. If I, as a customer service rep, were to be rude and harassing to my customers, I would be fired. Why is this not also the case for police?
  14. If their policy before 2009 was to not give a discount then I don't see why they would back pay from before then. If it were me and they backpay from the start of their policy to now and don't increase rates I'd be happy. If they refuse to back pay and/or still raise your rates, walk. There's ALWAYS cheaper insurance somewhere else.
  15. DJ, download Lookout from Google Play and make sure you don't have a virus. I've never heard of popups on an Android phone. Phone viruses are rare but they do happen. If you want to do a wipe, go to Settings, Storage then Factory Data Reset. The easy way to restore your contacts is to have them associated with your gmail account, that way when you sync the phone to gmail it automatically populates. To see if it is, log into gmail from a desktop and compare the contacts there. If everything is there, wipe away. Honestly, if you don't know what rooting is then you don't need it. It's nice to have as it opens up some doors but if you don't do your own research on it then things can go bad. My previous phone of two years was rooted and made it a much better experience, my current phone isn't rooted and I'm not sweating it one bit.

  21. Remember this from 2009? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503543_162-4893905-503543.html Hillary Clinton was going around spouting off that Mexican drug cartels were being armed by American gun dealers. So of course they had to turn that farce into a reality. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/gun-running-timeline-how-doj-s-operation-fast-and-furious-unfolded So yeah, this was done completely to back up Clinton's false accusations in an attempt to make a dent in our second amendment rights. Since guns weren't really crossing the borders they had to allow it to begin in order to create a problem that "needs fixed" when there was no problem before. I really don't understand why nobody is arguing this.
  22. looks to me like the batmobile seriously though, that video is terrible, no way to tell what it is and the video is embedded on the page
  23. That's pretty much the way Google is approaching the Android phone. All of your settings are saved to your gmail account, so when you get a new phone you just log it into gmail and your contact list, calendar, etc all automatically populate. That's a great idea, and could easily cross over to different applications like cars like you said. Oh, and welcome to the site!
