  1. I couldn't find the old pix of your bike thread (no I haven't shaved the shovel yet lol) so I'm posting a new one. Feel free to jack this into a wild custom bike photo thread - the wilder the better
  2. I'll some some parts from the shop that are marginal, maybe a little something for collecting them
  3. +1 on the ok, I tell people all the time, its all about the road - whether animal or some fool in a cage its all about the road.
  4. Looks just like my little 70cc guy (I bought an entire new lifan 125cc to swap out)
  5. Lol Pulsed, DC would be the second 'shot heard around the world' lol!
  6. Here's something a friend suggested over the weekend - stun gun - I can't find a power rating, but most showing about 1m volts. I'm thinking nano-amps. Cattle prod @ TSC rated for 4500 volts. Man - something has got to be closer to the ideal I'm looking for
  7. That sux, let's say the guy is honest - it was an accident, he had sweat in his eyes from cutting down the rest of the tree, exhaustion, whatever, he's got to be hating himself if he really loved her. Now let's say the guy was just looking for an opportunity to off her - can you imagine being the judge/jury who let him go if he's another serial wife killer like Mr. Peterson from Chicago on wife #5 and the first 4 either dead or disappeared suspiciously.
  8. My wife is going in for some tests on Wednesday morning, hopefully nothing too serious. Would appreciate any prayers, higher power support we can get... would be willing to accept happy thoughts and well wishes. Long story short is she's got some discomfort in the pelvic area and we're getting a sonogram to diagnose the cause is where we are right now. thanks in advance.
  9. I want to put apply a tesla style ultra-high voltage source to one of my hydrogen generators to see the effects. I figured a high voltage ignition coil and bridge rectifier circuit might do the trick. Any suggestions on the type of rectifier for continual long term usage?
  10. I'd like to have a 40kV 1mA power supply based on a 12v power supply (from my truck). Any ideas?
  11. Nice to meet you @ the shop. I'll work on the GM to get more competitive prices

  12. Jack's bike struggling to get free lol!
  13. :lol:Honda Fury - still trying to repackage and reintroduce the failure that was the VTX1300:lol: .... I can see a honda board room meeting - president "We're not moving enough of these turds gentleman... someone from marketing raises his hand and says - "stupid americans say you can't polish a turd, we'll show them with a vengeance... no a fury!"
  14. Good memory and observations guys - was vfr, then I bought the Triumph wheel, eccentric, spindle, etc. it was pretty easy once I got the parts, Bonus - the VFR sprocket and carrier were bolt-on easy.
  15. First - do your homework - take measurements and do the basics to check out whether the Single-sided SwingArm (SSA) will work on your bike. If the swingarm pivot area (the area where it would fit into the frame) is the same size or smaller than that length then you are in the easy way. If it is lager by that area by 1/4" or less then you'll probably want to grind an equal amount of metal from both ends to keep it balanced. Provided it measures close enough to trim or shim, consider the gearing - if the SSA has a different gear in the rear you may want to consider keeping the same ratio (simple math if the bike had a 14 tooth front - 28 tooth rear and the SSA comes with a 30 T rear then you'll need a 15 T front to keep the 1-2 ratio) if you don't want to worry how far your speedometer might be off. Speaking of sprockets, make sure they are using the same chain size on the sprockets to avoid breakage or excessive wearing. Bearings - 99.9% of the time you will need different bearings for the swingarm conversion - best thing to do is take the swingarm and pivot bolt to a bearing distributor like Motion Industries for example in Marysville. A knowledgeable bearing rep will take the measurements and many times ship the bearings to your house. If they can't order ones to fit, you may have to make your own bearings - on some bikes the oem just use a bushing covered in grease, others use a timken, sealed or needle bearings, be creative, it just has to work, so keep that in mind. Most conventional swingarms and SSAs use centered shocks, however the 'dogbones' or linkages may need lengthened or shortened to put the rear of the bike exactly as high as you want it. I haven't put an SSA on a TL1000R/S or EX650s so I'm not familiar with how to work around side shocks. You can expect the SSA to be a little different length than the conventional s/a so the ideal time to convert would be when the chain/sprockets need changed anyway. Now that you've measured, shaved, shimmed, adjusted the linkage, ordered the proper length chain, received the right bearings, next simply assemble and enjoy. Have fun!
  16. new pic of the busa with the Triumph rear wheel ( Suzuki should have made it like this)
  17. What's the carbon footprint on the ancient electrical powerplants that make the juice for the compressors?
  18. Just to think out of the box here, sometimes I've had other issues act like bad carbs - you might try checking the charging system (battery, stator, voltage regulator), ignition system (CDI, Coils, Pulse coil), short in the harness or plugs not fully plugged in. If the guy is good and the carbs are not the issue then no matter how many times you rebuild the carbs it won't fix the issue. My -.09 after change
  19. Did anyone notice the 'still under investigation'??? WTH?? She turn in front of him, probably snapping his neck when it ran into her door at any speed faster than 15 mph
  20. Law of averages - eventually the stupid thieves will steal junk they don't have the skills to handle.
  21. Thanks Brian, I've got sheets showing 232hp, 141 ft-# torque from my tuner, I'll probably settle down and get a 600 or 750 for my next sportbike - I've climbed this mountain and after this its just a matter of who has the biggest bank account. I had to cut the lowers for the big ol' dump pipe. I'm considering running a full pipe out and getting full lowers again...maybe here's the photobucket shot: http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu90/magifesq/tn.jpg
  22. Saw something disturbing while riding home - @ the corner of SR521 & SR61 an ambulance was loading up a rider. He was on an early 80s GS1000 blue/white Car broadsided him on the right side. Must not have been going too fast cuz the bike was still in one piece. Anyone know the bike or the guy?
  23. So like AL Capone, its not the criminal activity, its the taxes they went after
  24. That's a sweeeeeeeeeeeett pic, my avatar is the new sexier rr wheel. If you search ebay for a triumph SSA it'll be 3 spoke like mine and match the front spoke pattern. I put amsoil in it for the season and the engine feels smoother is first observation.
  25. I just put the finishing touches on the Daytona rear wheel conversion (gold 8 spoke 92 VFR wheel just wasn't feeling right, black 3 spoke looks more like it was made to fit), man that rear end looks much better. I'll post pix tomorrow. Feels like home again on the beast.
