  1. I think that's a bad idea. Once he twists the throttle on Jenna he'll soon realize he's bitten off more than he can chew. Remember' date=' she's a "Ninja250RM" ;)

Are you still enjoying her, btw? (or is SpeedyD hogging her to himself)[/quote']

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!! No one under 170 lbs can appreciate Jenna until they ride her properly (I would say that her suspension is pretty much maxed out at that weight). She is constantly underestimated.

Both of us took her out at NL in June because the shock for the SV was not ready and it was better to be on the track than not at all. Otherwise, I have been riding her to and from work/school so YES, I am still enjoying her very much although she still primer grey and patiently awaiting that nice paint job I keep on promising.

  2. From what I've heard, they allow cruisers in these groups too :)

Unless someone wants to lend me a beater

I have a ninja250 with a lot of character and runs really nice :) I have taken it out on Nelson and if you promise not to crash it, you are welcome to borrow it.

Yes, cruisers are allowed because it is school to teach better riding skills in a controlled, close circuit environment...it is not a race school.

  3. I'll be there, I don't have a trailer so if I can get in on a Columbus group that would be amazing. Otherwise I might ride and have someone come with me.

i don't know if this will help but fasttrax has their own forum at http://www.ridefasttrax.com/phpbb/

Also, many of the riders are on this forum (fasttrax racing school)

    http://www.localriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=270

Feel free to post and ask if anyone is willing to help you if they can. If they can, I know they will.

  4. Anyone ever done the leather rental with FastTrax/Ledges? Sounds interesting and wouldn't mind getting in a 1st track day...

Yeap, my husband and I just rented leathers in June. They are Vansons 1 piece mostly. We haven't lost our "baby weight" yet and haven't gotten new leathers so we rented. There is an online form to fill out for renting leathers at the track or you can contact Todd (http://www.ridefasttrax.com/aboutus.htm)

  5. I saw on their http://www.ridefasttrax.com/ that they are offering a Special Introductory Beginner Group Instruction at Nelson Ledges Friday, August 14th (from 5 pm to sundown). This is for $75 and probably a great way to be introduced to the track in a non-race, non-competitive atmosphere.

If you can think of anyone that might be hesitant at doing track time because they don't want to be "racing" and are free Friday night, maybe you can talk them into this...it's only $75 and what they learn will be worth it!! Check their website for more information (click on TrackDays -> Beginner).

I especially encourage woman riders who are new to the track to take advantage of this opportunity :) My husband and I will be there so let me know if you need any help with anything :) (pls let us know sooner rather than later, if possible).

I take no further responsibility into the introduction of a new addiction and money pit :)

  6. I realize not everyone is into that kind of mileage. You kinda have to work up to it. It's just about my favorite way to spend a day off. I've done 2,000 miles over 4 days a few times (mostly WV & VA), but with a new baby I won't be doing that this year. I find the twistiest roads possible, limit stops to every 120 miles or so, and avoid highway like the plague.

I'll prolly do this ride again or something very similiar in July. FOX let me know if you want to plan something.

    lololol

i just discovered you had a baby tpoppa

    CONGRATS!!! That is so awesome

and despite the baby, you are still putting on the MILEAGE THAT I ENVY!!

cuz we had a baby too :) hopefully we'll be to do a few more of those days next year when the baby is older!

  7. Wow......u r browsing the forum ????????!!!!!!! You let me know if u need something...all the best......

hehe yea i got a million other things i should have been doing but got caught up in catching up with some messageboards, been missing out :)

i just happened to browse ohioriders and saw your post...what timing!

    the x-rays are something else...

    we doing pretty good thanks

if it was riding season and baby was out, i'd say we need a baby sitter :)

  8. Well, the welcomes are still nice, hahaha!

Yes, we (hubby and I) were working out some suspension issues, not a bent fork for me though..could be someone else.

One of the issues was that we sent our rear spring out to get replaced with a lighter spring. The person who we sent it to (out of state) is a nice guy and all but took freaking forever to get back to us because of his busy schedule so we missed a few races (which was ok with us because we had other things came up, but if we were committed to EVERY race like we were our first year of racing (this was our third), then we would have been PISSED). Anyways, after the spring came back and we got it on the bike, I couldn't really test it out cuz gosh dagnabit, I got pregnant...you guys are lucky not to have to deal with that as riders :D

So hubby tested it during a weekend that he decided to do a 3 hour Fasttrax endurance race, everything went well. Then 45 mins into the race the rear shock reservoir made contact with the chain and blew out the shock, spraying suspension fluid all over the chain and rear tire. Fortunately Dorjän was able to keep from crashing and pulled in! So we learned a lesson there :D (to check slack!)

Sucks but it's all part of racing and learning. Picture attached. Here is link to our album of the race that weekend:

  9. yea, i know how you feel, lizard, ain't nothing new from what I read on localriders, at least you are consistent :D

i am no where near 1:10 mark :D so that is not a worry to me although I can understand the danger for those doing 1:10 and even then yall know what it's like so don't do it and in fact you don't

i like the friday pm practice for $75 (fasttrax race license or speed certified), you can't beat that and if you do fasttrax days, it's $125, if u aren't racing, you can do practice in the morning for $75, different folks for different folks, that's what..anyways

what do i know? I just know that we had a ton of fun with all our friends and it was a safe day in the end despite mechanical mishaps but we'll be out there again! don't be a hater

  10. hehehe kosmo, you beat me to posting the pics! that's awesome...i'm stealing the one pic u took of dorjan with clouds in the back, that's a nice menacing pic :D

THANKS and you are welcome for everything!! It was great to have you and so glad you could come out, thanks for all your enthusiasm!! It's so great to have that much spirit at the track.

  11. Hay Kosmo! Your enthusiasm truly made the day! You beat the record for anyone that I have known for signing up for a track day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oops, I mean street school *grin* GOOD JOB! I'm really, really glad for you and can't wait to hear about your experience. Please keep me posted. Like I said, I would LOVE to come and watch but I have to save all my vacation time now for maternity leave.

A million thank you's for all your help yesterday. It sucked that we blew the rear shock and could not finish the Iron Butt..that's racing. We still have a GREAT day and rider and bike still finished upright and thanks to you and Joe, everything was going smoothly despite mechanical stuff, we got Dorjan off to a good start and timing was going well.

My Canadian friends still visiting but they are leaving in a few so I''ll post pics/links in a little bit.

NL is not officially sold. The only unoffical pending news is October Fasttrax dates. Track isn't the best but it's still a lot of fun...it's all we got and we make the most of it :D

  12. Hi Everyone, just wanted to say wazzup! I'm not new to riding but new to this board. I live in Euclid, OH and currently ride a 250 Ninja for street and SV650 for track/race, although I'm slow :) but not slow enough to get black flagged LOL. Hubby also rides and races. Lots of people say how lucky it is that we both share this interest, I say, well it saves a lot of arguments about money, vacation time, etc. We spend a lot of time out at Nelson Ledges in Garrettsville, OH with Fasttrax family and friends and I manage a women rider club called motogirlz.org Not doing too much in trips (I love long weekenders or the quick jaunt to WV) or racing right now due to our first baby in the oven, but I'm still around so hope to catch some of ya at the next corner :D

    Take care, ride safe!
