  1. I had a friend at work recently loose a daughter to suicide. It is very sad. I was a friend to Eric Huoston. I did not know what to say to my friend at work. It just seemed nothing I could say would help. The important thing is he knows I care.

  2. Beagleys is nice and has a shower bring quarters. Beagleys is also right off the trail . I think it is $15 dollars for two people on a electric camp site. I have camped at scarlet oaks parking area before it is free and very rustic. it does have a porta potty there. I have to watch my money I will deffinately love to do at least one day camping would be a bonus. I will know if I can make it maybe next week. put my son and I down for a deffinate maybe. Love riding wayne it has been to long.

I am going to pm you my phone number.

  4. My son and I went north to do some trail riding with a friend. we loaded up and blasted off Friday morning. Saturday we got dirty. My son just sold his 03 DRZ 250 and bought an 05 KX 250 F. I am still riding my 83 XR 350. My boy Dan has a 93 KX 250.

The trail system in Roscommon and Clare county is extensive. You ride ride into town to get gas in some areas. These are state trails you need a state sticker which costs 16 buck for the whole year. We went to the Leota trail head it was the closest to the cabin.

This was our third trip to ride here and it was the best riding so far. It had rained recently so the trails were excellent. The trails cut thru pine forest some hard woods and clear cut areas so the terrain changes. Some areas get pretty sandy and there are areas with several whoop sections.

We head out Saturday and I set the pace for the group. things are following well and I let my boys take the lead for a bit. they quickly leave my in the dust but wait at the next trail intersection (proper trail procedures) My son and Dan would push each other to go faster and they would by having some fun until one would stall out on the brakes or take a trip off trail then I would catch up. after a while of this they would get pumped up and felt it was safer for me to lead again. I liked leading I ride better up front, I am more focused.

The crashes...I had a nice little get off. I used a high banked berm on a slight uphill as I came over the top a log was hanging over into the trail edge right on my line. I had no time to get around it so instead of smashing into it I grabbed a hand full of front brake and ejected. I landed with a pretty good thump in the sand and my son was able to stop in time before he hit the log. We took a small break and moved the log hazard and got back to the fun. I bent my bars so the boys went first as I anchored. about three miles later we get to the top of a sandy hill climb and my son shuts down the KX 250 F he said it made a screaching sound from the motor. I look at his bike and he i missing has inspection plug and his boot is coverd with oil. We send Dan back to the trail head for a strap and some oil. My boy was seriously bummin. Dan returned we filled it up and used a ear plug with some tape for a plug. No damage to the bike it fired and we made it back to the trail head. We pack up and head into town to find a replacement plug and some lunch and we also picked up Dans family who were waiting there turn to ride some of the bikes.

We return with toys ready. My son cased a whopp section and flipped over the bars. i did not see it he said it was a pretty spectacular flip. later he shows up with out his front fender. What happened I ask. He says a tree grabbed his fender and broke it. We continue to ride and Dan gets happy while leading and goes off trail and bails. No biggy we laugh and I take the lead again it is safer. Before we leave my son confesses he crashed when he broke his fender he did not want to admit to wiping out back to back. He takes me back to the scene and we pick up his fender it is in six pieces. That pretty much raps up Saturday.

Sunday Morning Dan wakes up early and stole a front fender of his yz to replace my sons broken fender. Thanks Dan. Sunday was excellent as well hit some trails we missed Saturday. The trees are changing colors already and it was beautiful the rain also held off both days while we were on the trails.

I am very happy with my 28 year old XR. I took it out of the garage on thursday. I have only started her up once since I rode it at Vintage days two years ago. She started with one kick. The whole neighborhood could here me WHaaaa Whooooo. she breaths I yell. I beat her ass on the trails all weekend and she did not even sputter spit or complain at all I love that old bitch.

Take a weekend and travel north you wont be dissapointed.

  5. My son needs a rear sprocket and chain for his 02 CB919. he currently has a 520 chain and sprocket kit installed. I have been looking around and it is hard to find a 520 set up for that bike. i dont think the F4i three spoke is the same, maybe the superhawk matches up not sure. what can you do for the CB919 I would prefer the longevity of a 525 over the 520 sprocket sizes front 15 or 16 and rear 42 or 43.

Also the a price on a set of A-stars gp pro gloves.. black size large.

    Thank you

  6. Get a wiring diagram. trace out the wiring on the line with the fuse. then isolate that wiring use a meter and look for shorts to ground on the power wiring. once you find the line with the short it should be easy to find the short. look for wire damage, burnt or overheated wiring or connectors. keep using the meter to further isolate the short. if you need more help with meter readings and such pm me with a phone #. you may have a bad component as long as you isolate the wiring you should be able to find it
