I'm lowering my dakota as a winter project and I need a set of 20's like 245-40-20, between 27 and 27 3/4 tall. What do ya got or who do you know? I found a place that will wholesale them for 105 a tire for some off the wall name but they are new. tryin to be like 150-200 on 4 good used ones.

Just my 2cents. 1900 trade in is like almost 2100 cash(depending on the tax rate of county you live in) cause you dont pay tax on your trade in.

For the most part HD is pretty strict about being able to use their name, from my understanding you have to follow a very strict contract to maintain your dealership and to sell new HDs....

I THOUGHT part of that contract was you couldn't sell any "competing" bikes... so for example, a HD dealer could sell HD and Honda, but only if they didn't sell any Honday cruisers... but I could very well be wrong on this.

Anyway, unless this is an official HD deal whatever dealers that did this will likely lose their HD license.

Just my opinion though.

I want to lower my 97 dakota 3" in front and 4" in rear but I want a quality ride still so I've looked into spings and shock kits and what not I found these torsion bar keys on e-bay anyone know about these things? is this a cheap way to lower my truck or a gimick?

Its a lowering strap for the front of a bike, used by drag racers to take the rebound out of the forks so the bike wont wheelie as easy. Others my use them for other reasons but that is the only use I know of.

If it were me I would find a used junk yard motor and have it thrown in.Seems like the cost is about the same, I bought a 80k mile 5.4 for mine for like 900 paid 500 labor(guy I found on CL) had some stuff done like new plugs n wires and fluids all together it was like 1700. I've since sold the truck to a friend who still has it it has almost 300k on it now did the swap at like 160. Its been my experience with ford motors if they have been overheated they never run right after that. seems as if it does long term damage to the rest of the parts and failure is a lot more likely. Again just my 2 cents
