  1. Yeah, Manuels pretty well rock. The guy you dealt with was probably the guy I got my Buell off of. They do alot with newer stuff. I'll check out the ones from above. I ordered a ton of shite for it today, need to get the carbs rebuilt, paint it, and I'm ready to go. Sounds so simple.....
  2. I just traded off my Buell and got another old school ZX7. Problem is, being its a 92, there isn't dick for parts anywhere. I've got alot of work that needs to be done and the only used vendors I have near are Manuels and Cycle Therapy. I love Manuels but they deal in nearer stuff and the guy that runs Cycle Therapy is an asshole and his stuff is WAAAY overpriced. I need little stuff here and there like bodywork pieces and things. I've got the 39mm Flatslides on ebay and I've got a set of damn near new set Michelin 2CT sport tires (190&120) on craigslist. Its a bitch I've got to have 50 post here. I usually don't have much to say! Let me know if you've dealt with any shops local to Akron area that were any good. Thanks!
  3. I think I'm around 100 miles on Thurs. night thru Friday evening. Got all ready to go Sat. morning and looked out and saw little white hale balls smashing into my truck and house. I hate Ohio.
  4. Surprised this hasn't sold yet, seeing it was 62 and sunny yesterday....
  5. I run a county wastewater treatment plant. Hey, its a shitty job and the hours suck but the pay is great and I have all the fertilizer I can use!
  6. I had the same problem as you with my Buell. I tried the title holder first who gave me the "I don't want to stand in line at the DMV, but I'll send you a bill-of-sale in your name" after I said I'd pay Mass. tax and title fees, then HD Financial who financed it originally to just cut me a new repo title, then a tow company. All were dicks and either gave me the run around or just flat told me to hit the bricks. I said the hell with it and found a perfect, clean title frame for $375 shipped. My bike was an 03 with 900 miles so parting it or selling it was out of the question. A weekend worth of work and I have a legal, basically new bike. Spend the cash and get a frame. After all the work you did it'd be a shame to toss it.
  7. I tried. The Buell is in Creston (like 40min away) by the time I got there, bought a battery, put a shift lever on, and got it ready to go I noticed the driveway going to the shop had 2" of ice on it. Hell with it. I'll wait till a good rainfall blows the salt off the roads.
  8. I'm probably going to get screamed at, but, the last 3 bikes I've had I ran the Shinko 005s on and I had NO problems with them. I'm not a professional race rider, canyon rider, or drag racer. Nor is the general riding population. I ride to and from work and blast around on the weekends. I've had them on a 748S, a ZX-7RR, and a VFR800 and they gripped fine and wore about the same as any other tires. I put about 15K on a year and at $145+/- they are a deal. I know what everybody says "If you've got a $10 head, buy a $10 helmet" but unless your balls out, a cheap tire with a decent compound does the job.
  9. I bought this thinking that the tag saying Large was actually code for Medium. Being that I was a bigger boy than I am now, I hadn't adjusted my coat size accordingly. Its a REALLY NICE coat. Looks like it was used a few times but still looks new. Black and silver with silver reflecting pieces. Fully armored. It also has a zip out quilted liner. I wore it once on Friday when it hit 45 degrees and went for a ride. Really warm and comfy but too big in the body area. $65 obo http://tourmaster.com/xcart/product.php?productid=244&cat=3
  10. I'd like to know where the hell in Ohio you were yesterday that was 34 degrees!!!!! It was -5 in Akron!
  11. I've got pics of the subframe also. Just can't upload them at the moment.
  12. I'm hopin'. My 6yr old digs on the bike shows so I might have to. And easy on the Buell. I've wanted one since the XBs came out. I tried to fill the desire with 3 Ducs and a couple others but ended up where I wanted to be!
  13. Ouch! Its weird that way I guess. Winter sucks. Everybody holes up and tinkers with the bikes till spring. Especially since I got the Buell in Nov., tore it apart, got it together, and I've never even rode it and its killing me. I've got a 2 wheeled paperweight till April!
  14. Any of you folks do "out-of-season" meetups? Just curious. It gets a little old going out to my garage and staring at my bike. Well, after today, the living room:)
  15. Hi all. I just got my Buell done and hopefully yet another Ducati project coming up, so I need to get rid of my 900RR project I started a while ago. Heres the skinny: 1993 900RR Frame: Straight and dent free. I had a bike builder/fabricator I know check it and found some stress cracks in the factory welds. He V notched them and rewelded. It looks factory. Frame has been sandblasted and painted matte black 1998 900RR subframe: Straight and still the factory silver/bare. 1998 900RR swingarm: Nice shape. Has been blasted and painted matte black with the frame. I've got a matching rear shock to the swing. Buy it as a set and it'll come with rear axle, swingarm axle, motor mount bushings, dog bone brackets for the shock and whatever else I have. Its a bill-of-sale frame. It'll come with the b.o.s I got when I bought it and I'll write one out. $200 takes the whole lot. Or shoot me an offer. transam121@hotmail.com I'll get some pics Wed. hopefully. I've got the set at work. Thanks, Brandon
