I respect that, and I also apologize if i came off too harsh.

Thats the best you have to come back with? you really got your head in your ass don't you Mr Rossi. If there is a bigger douche bag on this forum then yourself I would be shocked. Tell you what, pick up the phone and call Pirelli youself you Tool. You seem to know more then anyone here so go knock yourself out. You contradict yourself by trying to assume me saying street tires are good for the track then you show a video of Edwards testing street/track tires??? are you that clueless Im done with you and this thread but to shut a tool like yourself up here is the article, hopefully you learn something from a Street guy that gets his info from gixxer.com http://sportrider.automotive.com/98090/146-0810-how-to-warm-up-new-tires/index.html

haha you guys just need the bumper to bumper traffic we got here on the freeways and the excess emissions will put a hole right over ohio and prevent any snow in the future -

you guys need to move out to cali 300 days of sunshine with global warming maybe 330 now a days -
Well like i said im not a Yami guy so you are probably correct here the 1/5 & 1/6 is pretty much most forums from r1-forum r6-forum gixxer.com hayabusa.org 1000rr.net and a few others. i suspect its easer to say 1/5 then 3/16 but you seem pretty knowledgeable about the Yami so well call it 1/8th and 3/16th for arguments sake

There are many reasons why guys crash, all im pointing out is that your better off with good tires over hard compound commuter tires. Ill give you that some street tries are good tires but they are usually street/track tires like the corsaIII and pp2ct which guys run for double duty.
-
Why does it not surprise me that you would say this... Really??? Where did i state street compound tires can run perfectly fine at the track all day??? Now your putting words in my mouth. Don't make an ass out of yourself by assuming. So race compound tires do not heat up the same as street tires huh... I guess the head guy of Pirelli USA is talking out his ass when he specifically said and his words printed; RACE tires heat up just as quickly as street tires, and the myth they do not is just that a myth! Now i just find this statement you made as absurd as possible. Street tires have a compound structure that allows them to work great at street pace but Race tires don't. Are you serious, what structure might that be??? LOL, come on bro now your just trying to catch without bait. The only statment you made up there that makes sense is Just much longer well that is what im disputing with you. It does not take that much longer for them to heat up. In fact the difference is so insignifcant the top guy at Pirelli called it a Myth.My original response was to his original statement so maybe i should have read the entire thread but my advice is far from bad.

Not a yami guy so if you say 1/8th and 3/16th good on you. everyone else states 1/5 - 1/6 on other forums... Again it does not make contact, until you do this mod as i have done and racked up the miles I have then its a matter of your opinion and nothing to back it up. I have proved 40k miles and not a single problem. If you want to use a r1/r6 go right ahead and knock yourself out.
-
Actually the cable does not make contact there and the picture is not the last one i took that day which shows the end of the top zip tie tapered off so there is no contact at all between the cable and the end... Like i said if you want to use the r1/r6 knock yourself out. I have done this bike to all my bikes and 40,000 miles on my last bike no issues cheer

Good work, i have a DIY for this on a gsxr 1000 with a cluch mod fix as well if anyone is interested
-
you will be surprised how many times you see guys going down in the canyons here b/c the tire slipped without giving any warning. Guys just pushing their bikes to the limit on hard pos compound street tires learn the hard way
-
I use pitbull b/c they are made in the USA and they have quality products backed by warranties and the guys there are great. Contact George at Pitbull and let him know i send you and he will take care of you.

get off your high horse buddy. the first question was not stating anything about street tires, you don't anything about me and are probably getting upset im pissing in your sandbox. If you think the bike is a show bike you are seriously mistaking. Ill bet you are one of those guys who also tells everyone Race tires don't heat up on the streets and they should stick to street tires for the street right:rolleyes: Ill say this, if your looking for a street tire you want nothing but commuting miles for and no track/canyon rides then get a cheaper tire but if you want something you can go from the track to the streets on then get some Ntec or supercorsas. Ask yourself this whats more expensive, some tires or some plastics b/c your hard street tires didn't stick when you decided to go for a spirited canyon ride.

The problem with the yami is the size of the tube is not the same as oem for one and two you are restricted to 1/5 & 1/6 tubes. If your happy with the yami tube enjoy, i spend about $0.80 for my screws and a little bit of my time and some ingenuity to do the same thing and can always change it to say 1/7th or go back to stock. cheers

Like i said i like the site layout and know a few people in Ohio so im willing to contribute but changing my for sale post in the classifieds section to SPAM is uncalled for. shittygsxr - thanks again for the kind words, if you enjoyed that issue you will be able to see it again in cycle world magazine since it just came out. It didn't get on the cover like super street bike so you will need to flip through to find a 2 page story on it. The bike looks the same so not much difference but since that shoot the bike has been overhauled with new parts and completely different front end. I will say this these last set of parts are hard to get and not cheap. FGR CMC MXL P34-GP and so on since i don't want to give it all away.. Another magazine is interested in the doing a full cover for the new build so be on the lookout.

Best tires you can buy are the dunlop Ntec UK tires. got a set on my bike and they are like glue... of course there are others as well from other manufacturers but here in so Cali dunlop is king

I will give you one very useful advice. Don't cheap out on gear. if you dont see it fall apart it will offer very little protection to the good stuff.. have fun and ride safe
-
speedo healer is a nice option so is yellowbox both easy to setup
-
You have a few options, you can go with one of these from Graves. or you can tap into the clipon itself and use a self tap screw. As for the brake line make sure what you get is sweat proof the best i have seen so far is Tygon 2075 1/4ID this is the stuff they use in medical and never sweats and ive used it for years and was recommended a few years back from a friend. You can order from mcmaster and other sites

this is a really nice and cheap mod i did this using 2 zip ties some puddy, small screws from HD and a unibit. the thickness of the zip ties and number of zip ties you use will determine the lobe diameter. here is a pic for those interested.

Good tip another way to ease up the lever is a hydro conversion like i did on my k5 1k
