I wear a back protector in my Aerostich Darien Light jacket at all times. You cannot predict when an accident occurs. ATGATT.

Excellent shorts. No seams. Makes long distance days much more enjoyable.
-
Almost all acccidents can be avoided with proper safety cushions and riding techniques.

Have to agree with Pokey. I suspect most of the loud bikes are bar bikes. These guys are saying 'look at me!' What a bunch of posers.

Good looking bike but really need a liquid-cooled engine for practicality and overall performance.

nice bike!

Not knowing the noise level it is impossible to say who is wrong. With that said, if you run a stock exhaust you should have no issues. If you want to be obnoxiously loud, you get everything that comes your way. Respect is a two-way street. I don't want to hear loud motorcycles, cars, trucks, whatever. The sooner measurable, enforceable noise laws are put in place the better. If asshats with straight pipes had a brain and some respecy, noise ordinances and motorcycle bans would have no need to exist.

Aerostich Darien Light - use it year-round in Ohio

Aerostich AD1 overpants are water resistant and work well.

Aerostich AD1 pants and Darien Light jacket with TF2 and TF3 armor.

Get qualified training now. It is much easier to learn how to ride if you don't have to break bad habits first. Take the Motorcycle Ohio BRC. It will be time and $25 well spent.

Different bikes, different demands, different oils. Get a Blackstone oil analysis kit and see how the oil you use works in your bike when you ride.

A little rain shouldn't keep you from riding.

Avon Storm 2 Ultra tires give me excellent mileage. The wet grip is fantastic.

16k on Avon Storm 2 Ultra on the rear; close to 20k on the front.

Every day is a good riding day provided there is no ice on the road.

I am a Motorcycle Ohio Instructor and enjoy it immensely. I you like working with all types of people and teaching new skills, you will enjoy being an instructor. If you want to do this for the money or any other reason, don't bother. The hours are long, the environment can be challenging. Standing in forty degree rain or ninety degree sun for six hours can test your endurance. If you love to teach motorcycling it's all good - otherwise it sucks.

Check insurance regulations with historical plates. I have one car and two bikes with historical plates. If the $60 per year for plates is an issue, maybe purchasing a motorcycle wasn't a good idea.

We call this the 'No Zone' in the MSF BRC classroom. The motorcyclist is responsible for their own safety. Don't trust other drivers and don't assume anything.
