I am sitting at the McDonalds right now and it is raining. I was hoping to stay easy of it but that didn't happen. I will wait it out for a little bit and then put on the rain gear.
-
I am not planning on charging for the ride but I will be taking donations for the cause. THe more we can raise for Brian the better.
-
That will be early for you but come on out. If you want to you could ride it backwards and meet up with me somewhere along the way.

I know this is late notice but I am planning on pre-riding the Brian Kinney Benefit ride tomorrow morning. I will be at the McDonalds in Sunbury on 36 just west of 3 (Sunbury Road) at 8:15 and depart at 8:30. If anyone is up early and wants to ride come on out.
-
Thanks for posting it Phil. I hope everyone can make it out to this one. We will be starting this ride from the Iron Pony rather than the Church. We will figure out the departure time once I speak with Brian. It will probably be later than our usual 9:30am time.

Check out the Brian Kinney Benefit Ride thread.

This is the route I have come up with. It should work for everyone. The first third of it will be fairly straight, second third will be sweet and the last will be a relaxing cool down. Brian is going to be putting some advertising together. It would be great if we could have a huge group of riders. If you all could tell everyone you know about the ride so we raise some funds for the cause. All types of bikes are welcome, none will be left behind. We will probably split into multiple groups but just to keep the numbers down, not because fast or slow. http://ridewithgps.com/trips/47079

Since we are going to combine our ride with Brian's benefit ride we are going to push back the long ride until August. We have already scheduled a different event for July (more details to come). We are working on the route and should have it posted soon. It will probably be no more than 150 miles but we will try to include some good roads anyway. I hope all of you can make it out to support Brian and help him raise the funds needed to get him back on the bike. This will be an awesome sight to see him out riding again.

I am not sure if all of you are aware of what Brian is attempting to do but after speaking to him today I was so inspired. This is a link to the kit he is putting on his bike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp4Qn6ugQEw I am so impressed with Brian's desire to get back out there on the bike. It is going to be awesome to see him riding in our group some time soon.

See, I knew you could get those batteries changed. That is a great idea!

I spoke with Brian today and I have agreed to include our ride as the ride for the benefit ride. I am thinking we could possibly put together 2 rides for the same day. One shorter ride for those that do not want to put the miles in and the other long one which was Brian's favorite ride last year before he was injured. I will be researching routes over the next few days to see what we can come up with.

Looks like our ride next month will be a benefit ride for Brian. I am not sure if the 300 miles will be a good route since we will want to get as many riders as possible to participate. I may have to come up with something that is not so long. Everyone give me your feedback please.

When I spoke with Todd on Sunday he said something about the benefit for Brian but I have not heard anything about it. I would love to include our ride with the benefit but I need to know more about it.

Phil, You just made me throw up in my mouth:monkeypoo:

I have already posted a link to your pics on the CSBA forum as well. I guess I can't complain considering I forgot to even bring my camera.
-
Nice pics but I don't remember having that Triumph in 2007.

The only place you will find that will be on the track. The confidence will come, just don't push it beyond your comfort level. That level will gradually increase the more you ride and put faith in the tires. Trust me, the bike will take those turns much deeper and quicker than you will ever want to do.
-
All that riding and you did not meet up with us. What is up with that?
-
It was great to see what it looks like on the road. I don't usually get to see it since I am riding it when it is out. For a 10 year old bike it sure does look great.

Thanks for all the pics Chevy. I failed to bring my camera with me this ride so I was hoping someone would snap some. I would not say I was sandbagging, it was more keeping an eye on my other bike. I did not want to see that thing slide across the pavement in my mirror. I thought it was a good pace, never felt like I was above 80% ability. As far as the Sheriff passing, I was more concerned with the second group since I spotted him right away and was able to go by him at 55 and slow the bikes down behind me. The second group was not able to see us slow down though so I thought for sure someone would have been pulled. Todd, we will miss you next month, I hope we won't have a bunch on no shows since you will not be there.

Thanks to everyone that showed up. We did have a great ride today. With the exception of Goose Creek road (chip seal) and the lower part of 278 (patches everywhere) the rest of the roads were good. I am glad everyone had a good time and I am looking forward to next months ride. Start getting prepared, it will be a long one, we will probably need to hit the slab some just to get back before dark. I will have the route posted this week I hope.

SWing'r, I am planning on doing a 30 mile ride on my bicycle Sunday morning to prepare for the tour. You are welcome to join me if you would like. I will probably do the same route that the tour will be doing.

The exact address of the church is 6075 E. Livingston Ave. The weather is going to be great so come on out, you will not regret it.

I have heard several guys comment on the epic ride we did last year in June. I am thinking about doing a similar ride this June but I wanted to make sure the distance will not cause many of you to skip it. The total distance is 329 miles, if this is something you would be interested in doing let me know. There is really not much that can be done to shorten it without losing the best parts. I do everything possible to always avoid the interstate. This would definitely a full day in the saddle. This is the route that I have come up with so far. http://ridewithgps.com/trips/40152

Here is the map of the ride. I hope you all can make it. http://ridewithgps.com/trips/40109
