  1. other than regular maintenance and replacement of normal wear items such as spark plugs, tires, brake pads, chain & sprockets, battery, the bike runs perfect and has never let me down.. at 100k miles I'm knocking out a yearly average of 46 mpg. and the inside of the air box is clean & dry. in addition, I'm still running original stock bearings, suspension, brake rotors, fuel pump & filter, clutch & basket, charging system, and a 07 pure stock ECU. i give this bike a grade of A+ .. undoubtedly the best bike ive ever owned. IMHO, i contribute my good luck to,

    1. the OverDrive Trannie, for 30% less wear & tear on engine.

    2. the use of mc specific motor oil.

    3. use of regular automotive grade fuel with the highest AKI rating.

    4. street use only. no dirt or trails

  2. Look into the Tuskeegee motel just down the road on 28. It's a great place and inexpensive.
thanks for the info.. i been past that place many times. always thought it looked like a cool place. but didnt know or forgot the name of the place. even stopped there a few times for gas, food and drink but never stayed there.
  3. looking above at the links from al.Z.heimer on the michelin website, they are indeed different. soft/medium/soft compound for the rear tire is 10/80/10 for trail and 40/20/40 for regular.
i dont know about that. but i did notice that the trail version has a thicker- deeper tread than the regular version. hence, more mileage and a lower speed rating for trail version.
  4. Hmmm...I run that pressure and would never get that mileage. I run less up front' date=' but those tend to last 1.5x more than the rear. Your bike is the 1k, right?[/quote']yeah DL1. 36 frt. - 38 rear for 2 up. i used to run max pressure per tire side wall. but found that i get better tire mileage if i run mc manufacturer recommended pressure.
