  1. The "fuck wad harley rider" indication did seem to have some merit.

I met my neighbor when he stopped by to look at my trailer for sale. He starts talking about other things and blah, blah, blah.

The new topic was about gear and stuff. My mention about the pirate costumes didn't go over as funny as I thought. He insisted that wearing giant black boots, to protect his feet, was vastly more important that the wearing of a helmet. He said, "if you don't protect your feet you cant walk".

As the conversation went on he actually stated, "I'll stab a mother fucker". Interesting part was his ABATE shirt.

Never the less he wasn't really interested in buying a trailer. And he was way more concerned about informing me about the dangers of wearing a helmet.

I've bounced my noggin off the ground a few times and I'm sure glad the "neck injury device" did its job.

  2. It's a dry sump oiled motor. One side of the oil pump draws oil from the frame and feeds the motor. The other side of the oil pump evacuates the sump oil up into the frame.

The side bolt oil check is to verify the evacuation process. Cracking open the oil pipe bolt up near the head is to verify the oiling process.

If the oil is near the check bolt, and not above, the evacuation is working. If the oil squirts out the upper banjo bolt area, the oiling process is working.

My oil change consists of one quart into the head and one quart into the frame. Add some shop air to the fill opening in the frame when kicking over, to prime the pump. Then start the bike.
