  1. anybody ever go "ice blocking" down hills as a teenager? before we got scooters or cars, occasionally meet up at the golf course at night (with our own ice blocks) and slide down the hills. cheap entertainment on a friday night!
  2. hi chris. are you going to the auto show and the after party?

  3. over the top yeah, but if you were listening to dave and jimmy tuesday morning, it was pretty cool as the calls from the west coast came in and hearing his story launch here locally for the first time. Anyone else up at the crack of dawn that morning? im definetly not one to judge. i just hope he can keep his life together under the pressures of sudden fame and trully hope for his success. but of course he will. he found jesus.
  4. LOL -- HA HA CHRIS. CAN YOU GUESS WHAT MINE SAYS?
  5. Snopes as a resource is good to refer to. They are not 100% always correct. One example -- if you research "Disney", snopes denies any truth to the rumor that the VHS cover of the Little Mermaid had a phallic symbol hidden in the center. I in fact had this copy but never new it until i had a garage sale two years ago. The lady who bought it from me pointed it out after she paid me my $1 dollar!! Snopes claims this story false. Of course -- not all of the VHS copies of the movie have the graphic -- after Disney discovered it, they pulled the rest from the shelves.
  6. i grew up riding off road since i was six. Riding on road never interested me whatsoever. my husband however has a deep passion for it. after 3 little ones and years of worrying myself sick everytime he rode (and my own 38th birthday... hmmm??) my thinking started to change. i wanted to do something that we could share in interest in away and separate from the business of parenthood. it was a natural progression given my comfort riding off road, or so i thought. im not sure i have found the bike for me yet. i have a cruiser -- not enough bike for me, and ride the superhawk -- a bike too much for me. i do know this -- i prefer a :bow:sportsbike over the cruiser but i also appreciate the option to ride either. we dont excommunicate the kids either.. they are included once in a while when we need the bikes cleaned.. little hands make it easy to reach those rough spots.. not sure there is a poll choice for me up there. how bout an option for that realization that we only live life once and wanting to do something you'e only thought about without any actions behind it? .. but the grasping onto sanity choice would apply in all cases
  7. -- got an installed new garage door opener which on another thread i think i voiced how happy i am with it Also got a wool peacoat for the winter, and a new Droid Fascinate, but I'm still coming down off a Blackberry curve -- spending way more time correcting rather than "sending." Saw a place in Dublin I have to try to breakfast on xmas vacation thou. Firstwatch? Reviews? Not trying to hijack
  8. the traffic on the pennisula blows. agreed. if you are into camping thou you can get some pretty views.
  9. i sat on the sv @ the dealer and we had a long conversation. he just affirmed my thoughts on lowering and its effect on handling. Im rather in a quandary. the 250ninja? what was i thinking. i was on crack for about 2 weeks i suppose. that being said, i may not get my sportsbike... at the end of the day, i need a bike that i can touch ground with. when i ride the superhawk, its so heavy, it leaves my calves burning when I try to support it at long lights on one leg leaning. one day last year after a good deal of cornering practice, i dropped it after i stopped. i rode too long and when i got off i was just too tired to support. im not unfit either. so we are shopping around and doing research right now. maybe a ninja 500 will satisfy. we'll see.

  10. the hubs really wants me to have one of these. in a bad way. how tall are you? my issue remains that im only 5'2 and although i need a lowered bike, so far im quite aware of what an adjustment will have on the handling of a bike. no matter what anyone says.....
  11. I see your angle... Would love to go to buddys!.... and am grateful for the suggestion even! Heck that is the best option imo . However, always easier said than done. I always take my kids to these type of places though. I brainwash them and hopefully one day they will appreciate it. Who knows what will pan out... I might actually have to work an event that weekend, ironically up in Cleveland!
  12. GONNA HI JACK THIS ... Everyone I know will appreciate it!!!
  13. We are interested in this. Casper, if i take my kids, do you know prices for them?
  14. Laguna Seca is a stellar alternative, if not my preference to Daytona.
  15. my neighborhood has an association. items like trailers must be parked inside the garage, so we would park our dirtbikes on them with tie-downs. since we use it on the weekends enough, paying a fee to store it didnt make sense. so we dealt with it. I think we are selling it now though. it will be missed, but not the space it took up.
