A real life “Rambo” type is on the run after getting involved with a shootout with police.

David Burgert, 47 was in a gunfight with the Missoula County sheriff’s deputies where no one was injured but the ex-Marine who is part of a militia group is now being hunted by US agents.

It began after a police call about a vehicle traveling erratically near Lolo, Montana. Cops followed him for about 30 miles until he turned into a ditch and fired at officers after they ordered him to surrender. He then dashed into the woods and has been on the lam ever since.

Apparently and surprisingly, Burgert had been arrested before back in 2002 over shooting at police and possession of illegal firearms. One would think that at that point his crime spree would have ended after he’d been sentenced to ten years in the slammer. Later he became involved with a group called Project 7 that allegedly has planned to fight police, assassinate officials and take over the US government. What is also crazy is just a week earlier he’d been stopped by cops on a traffic violation and he reportedly had made threats that he was going to retaliate against police and that a SWAT team would have to take him down.

Somewhere along the line the cops just didn’t get it. You’ve got a convicted felon who has previously shot at police, belongs to a criminal militia group, stated to officers he was going to kill, and for some reason when they had him in custody they let him go.

I don't really see it as a big deal. I think if they were talking out loud then they didn't care too much, and I'm sure you could have made a sly comment which would have gave you an opening into their conversation. Next thing you know you're bangin' two chicks later that night. FTW.
